I wanted to hate this; the last thing I needed was another Patagonia jacket, but I loved it. Actually fits great in my usual Patagonia size. I didn't experience the "Michelin Man" effect some of the others have. I'm far from stick-skinny and it zipped and fit just fine over my hips. Perfect fit, in fact. Very comfortable and plenty warm today (low 30s, heavy clouds & rain). Packs down super small like all Pat jackets.
Ordered this jacket on sale. I'm 5'3 112 lbs. (Not athletic build). The xs fits like a glove with light under layer. If I was broader in the shoulder it would be snug under the arms. So light but yet so warm.
I bought this jacket for a trip to Iceland and Greenland in June, 2025. It was great and I loved using it. When I came home, I washed it according to the instructions. After drying it,with tennis balls,I realized that the down filling had shifted. One arm has no down (oomph)at all in the middle of the sleeve. I just tried putting it into the dryer again, but it hasn’t helped. The sleeve is without filling in the middle of the arm. What gives? I decided to see when I bought it, and was surprised to see I bought it only a year ago. Because of the loss of down, I gave it a low rating. My husband had his down sweater for years - it was great and he never had any issues with it. This hasn’t happened with any of my pre ious Patagonia products.
This is the most amazing jacket (or sweater as its called). I wear it almost every day as we are on our boat sailing to Alaska. II love the deep pockets, the sleeves are long and the collar keeps my neck warm. Perfect!
Warm and comfortable coat. I sized down because my experience with Patagonia clothing is that it runs a little on the big side, but it’s a little snug. It’ll work but I won’t be able to wear anything bulky under it.
