I have an older Nanopuff pullover and vest, both in size medium and they fit perfectly. I can wear either one over a hooded sweatshirt and not feel restricted nor are the jackets sloppy over minimal base layers. The Nanopuff jacket I just received felt wicked tight, especially through the arms and armpits. The new fit seems to be for skinny folks with little stick arms. I overlayed the new jacket on top of the old pullover and the torso is a good 1” narrower than previous. The armpit area is similarly narrower. For reference I wear a medium in Patagonia (older nanopuffs, flannels, etc.) Disappointed. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Will be returning.
Bought this because I love how Patagonia is helping to conserve the environment, it’s quality, the versatility, and color. My arms are a bit short and I love how the green inside color pops when I do my favorite wrist roll. Since I do have hips, it’s a little straight cut but I sinch the bottom anyways so it’s perfect. Usually a Wimen’s medium size (sometimes large sometimes small, you know) and a men’s small is what I got. Perfect to layer thin things below and minimal enough to pop my favorite beat over it. Came two days earlier than expected! Can’t wait to test it out in desert. Thanks REI!
Holy smokes! I have dozens of Patagonia pieces, to be fair only two of which are Nano Puff pieces, but...the sizing went down a full size at least. I fit perfectly into a Large in the SLIM FIT R1 and R2 Techface jackets, yet this REGULAR FIT is literally two inches shorter in hem and sleeves than it used to be, as well as so much tighter in the body that it looked like I was putting on a wetsuit. My circa 2014 and 2018 Nano Puffs are both Large and fit perfectly well. This new cut is a joke. For reference I am 6' 3", 220, ~45"/~35" chest/waist, and I generally like things a bit snug. Reordered in XL so we'll see how that goes, but knowing Patagonia it probably just gets wider and not longer.
had this for a few months and it's terrible quality -- worn prob 20 times and one snag (of the squares that is single stitched) ruined the whole jacket
Patagonia has gone off the rails, like many other companies, and have thrown out standard sizing. What used to be a Medium, or Medium-Long/Tall is now their Large. And this is supposed to be a shell; even as a Medium, it likely leaves no room for layering. This is quite a shame as a piece of outdoor clothing should provide room for movement, and there is none to be found. Judging by the size, I doubt sizing up to an XL would even work, as it would be too long and too snug for any layering. And this does not appear to be an isolated incident either, as I just ordered a Patagonia Torrenshell, and it was the same; yet I have three Patagonia fleeces that fit quite nicely.
I love how light and warm this jacket is. Fits like a glove without having too much room for cold air to get in. I'm 6'5 225 lbs and this is a perfect fit. It's long enough too. I tried other jackets on like the REI brand puffy, but the arms were huge! This one is more snug in the arms but plenty of room to move in. I wore it out in 10 degree weather yesterday with a layer underneath and it seemed warm enough from the truck to the store. Very happy with my purchase!
Took this Jacket on a May, Seattle, Mount Rainier N.P. and AK Cruise trip. Nice styling and look for everyday use but not quite as warm as I thought and I found I needed a thick fleece underneath to stay warm in temps ~ 40F, so I found myself switching to my down jacket when it was colder or very windy (< 40F with wind chill). Did a fairly good job at wind blocking. Fit is narrow at the hips but overall fits to size (I am 165lbs with a slight belly and a large fits me good). Will do great for cold mornings for Southern States spring / fall camping trips (which is why I bought it), or use in rain under a rain shell to stay warm. Would not pay full retail price, but would buy again if on sale ~ $120 to $130. Packs down well for travel but not as compact as my down jacket.
Pretty good warmth for the weight. Don't expect a parka for 10 ounces or whatever this weighs. Comfy. Seems pretty durable for the weight.
I love the jacket but returned it because of the color/finish. The sheen was much too shiny, much more than represented by Patagonia's stock photo. I exchanged it for a darker color in more of a matte.
Wow! This Patagonia is definitely my all-around! Perfect for a 30-60 degree weather! Worth every penny! Thanks, REI!
