4/5 stars. I found the XL jacket to fit nicely for my height (6'2") in both sleeve and waist. I like the dual jacket feature (fleece with shell) great for layering. I left off 1 star because I would not recommend this jacket for extreme cold weather. At 32F (with many base layers) i could feel the chill penetrating the front zipper. Wish the fleece liner had more substance to it. Overall a well-build and well-thought out jacket. It was worth the sale price, not full retail.
I've given this a 3-star because it really didn't meet my needs. Others might give it a 4-star (or higher?). Was hoping this would be an easy, dual purpose shell / jacket. I'm not enjoying it because (a) it feels bulky, (b) is cumbersome to "take apart and put together" (my opinion), (c) the shell is too long (covers my rear and makes "walking" interesting -- like a tight skirt), (d) the collar is bulky, stiff and awkward when zipped around the neck (and not quite fully zipped). Trying my REI 850 down jacket with an REI rain jacket / shell is much less bulky, and I think it will more satisfactorily meet my needs. Go REI products! Unfortunately I've just missed REI's generous 1-year return period, so I'll probably be looking for another "good home" for this jacket (and there are plenty of less-fortunate people out there that would probably LOVE this jacket . . . :-) )
This thing is legit. I am 5’8 170 lbs and I bought a medium. Love the way it fits. I tried a large first and found it a bit too big. This thing is as well made as you’d expect from The North Face. Definitely recommend.
Super warm, a little bigger than average 2XL but I like bigger so it works. I’m 6’5” and 165lbs so I knew it wouldn’t fit perfectly. Yet, in 20° hood up, the complete set is perfect to keep oneself warm.
I wanted to like this parka, unfortunately, outside of the color, I don't care for it. It's bulky and not very warm. I'm disappointed. I will probably donate it to someone in need of a winter jacket.
I ordered from REI ans then they canceled. Review is for REI only.
