Effective and Packable

I am really excited about this vest. I see it being a regular part of my wardrobe from outdoor activities in cooler weather to daily wear for work (I am a nurse). This vest is extremely light weight and I was surprised at the warmth it provided given that it doesn't feel like you are wearing much. The insulation (as can be seen in the attached photos) only lines the front of the vest. The back of the vest does not contain insulation and allows for breathability. The design of the vest is simplistic and the cut/seams allow the vest to move well with your body during various motions or activities. I wore this the other day to run outside and it was about 39 degrees. I wore it with a long sleeve, gloves, and leggings and felt very comfortable. Almost hot at points. There is one small pocket that can be used for a key or gel, not large enough for your phone. But the entire vest does pack into that small pocket which makes this vest very transportable and packable. I could see this being my go-to travel vest when I might need additional layers. The vest is more on the slim-fitting side of things. I got a medium, and while it fits, I would have likely chosen a large if that was an option as I prefer things more roomy than snug. I do wear a large in the Atom jackets because I have broad shoulders, so I thought the vest would be fine in medium. It works but I would prefer it a little larger. But that's on me, not Arc'teryx.

Lightweight and dreamy

I received this product for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I picked black as it's a versatile color that goes with so many things. The fabric was silky smooth to the touch and super lightweight, I couldn't believe it could be insulating. My trail runs on the mountain were chillier than expected lately so I layered the vest under a lightweight jacket and my core stays comfortably warm. I barely noticed I was wearing it as it's thin, stretchy, and comfortable. Arc'teryx has nailed the minimalist design with this product! I could easily see packing this down and throwing it into a backpack on future hikes and runs. I'm 5'4" and usually wear small or x-small. This is a small and fits me perfectly. It has a small side pocket which fit my house key, but nowhere to place my phone. I'd personally prefer a larger pocket, but have adjusted by intentionally wearing another clothing item with a pocket for my phone.#reitrailblazers

Almost Perfect! Needs Hand Pockets

This is one of the BEST pieces Arc’teryx has ever made. For fit, length, comfort, and aesthetics, it is unquestionably FIVE full stars. This piece is practically perfect! I am deducting just one star because the teeny, tiny, single pocket on the right side (if you have the vest on your body) is SO small that it can only fit a tissue or two, a house and/or car key, and/or a driver’s license and/or credit card. The pocket is also backward, and this makes accessing it both difficult and counterintuitive. I would like to see this vest with two low-profile hand pockets, which would also be able to fit other items, making it more convenient and comfy for all-around use. Please keep the length, slim fit, more femme aesthetic, and low-profile the same. This is what I WISHED the 2019 Atom vest had looked like, instead of boxy and masculine. I bought two of the Atom because I was afraid it would change, and I was right! The next iteration of the Atom vest was terrible, too long, and has a crazy tall neck. The neck on the Norvan vest (as of December 2023) is wonderful. This vest is fantastic for hiking, walking, running, sitting at home, getting ready errands done, and even looks great for casual use over a tank top or sports bra. Works beautifully over ANY base layer and under ANY jacket. This vest is SO MUCH MORE BREATHABLE than the Atom vest, which always leaves me sweaty, wet, and cold if I am moving. Thank you for making this spectacular vest! I am: 5’8” 125-135 lbs Slim & athletic Extremely active Long torso & long arms Perfect size in the Norvan vest: medium

The layer I didn't know I needed (but love!)

I am a huge fan of layering systems in the back country and particularly love a vest for extra warmth around my core, so I was excited to try out this new vest. Out of the box I was incredibly surprised by how light weight and thin it is but also impressed with the soft feel of the material and the fit. I love the extra length in the back and the large fits perfectly over my chest, with plenty of room for a layer below the vest as well. I know it's a technical layer but I have definitely worn it a few times with jeans as well because it's so cute! The weight and thickness of this vest makes this a perfect layer for cooler temps, especially while moving, however I know I will need a warmer vest for those mid-winter months. The material is perfect for wearing on a run out high output activity as it holds warmth without making you overheat. I am so happy to have this layer in my collection and look forward to using it throughout the coming cooler months.

Comfortable and lightweight

This vest was comfortable during a run or wearing around the house. I liked that it was lightweight and versatile. The vest kept me warm and comfortable during a fall run outdoors. The vest can be easily folded up into the small pocket. I wish the pocket was large enough for a phone.

Perfect fall running piece

Bought this for ''cold'' Vancouver runs and it's the perfect addition to my Fall/Winter layering system. I love it over a long-sleeve top on dry days, and under my hardshell on rainy days. The fit is perfect - not too snug, not too loose - and true to size (I'm 5'6 and bought a size small). Bonus point: my iphone mini fits in the hip pocket :)

Endurance athlete must own!

Picked up this vest for those colder morning runs and I'm so happy I did. It provides the perfect amount of warmth where I don't overheat. I love that only the front is lightly insulated and the back allows for heat to escape. I usually wear a long sleeve under and I'm good to go. I could see this being a go-to under a running shell when the weather turns. The small pocket is perfect for gels, airpods or a house key. The overall fit is spot on as well. I usually wear a small in other brands for tops and this was no different.

Get it!!!

This vest is the best!!! I use it to run all the time, it's awesome because the front has insulation but you don't get too hot because the back is so thin and breathable, letting out all body heat. It's also great to wear as an every day piece indoors, it gives a little bit of extra warmth without overheating you. Such a great versatile piece, can be used to golf, hike, walk, and more. Pretty much good in any scenario for spring/summer weather.
