Amazing for backpacking!

I have had a hard time finding shoes that work for me for backpacking. I want support because I have a tendency to roll my ankles easily, but I want softness to help with shock absorption and save my knees and feet when I am carrying weight. I am also super clumsy and like grippy soles. But, I don’t want a ton of weight because it’s so much more tiring to wear heavy shoes. I took these on a 4-day 3-night backpacking trip after only 2 short break-in hikes because of a healing knee injury. I feel the best I have ever felt after a backpacking trip! And it rained the whole time, much of the trail was full of water and deep mud, and had a bunch of stream crossings. Even having my left foot get completely sucked into a muddy sinkhole that wanted to steal my shoe, the inside of my shoes were never wet. Best backpacking shoes I have ever had!!

Great trail shoe but hole at seam after 10 miles

I have used Hoka Bondi for 2 years and had no issues. They are great shoes. I bought the Anacapa 2. The tread is great, the fit is accurate, and they feel great. But after 10 miles of easy hiking a hole has formed on the upper seam of the shoe (left side of ankle). The hole looks like the material is ripping & fraying. I have applied Fray Check to try and stop it.

I have a hard time finding comfortable footwear due to Neuropathy. I bought these hikers this week and took them for an easy hike yesterday. Perfect for me.
