Great boots, but do not wash!

I gave the boots 4 stars rather than 5 for one reason. After a very wet and muddy 6 days hiking in Cornwall, I had to wash my boots when I got home as they had gotten wet inside from the rain running in from the top. Hoka states that you can use regular laundry detergent. Which I did. It removed the color from the nubuck parts of the boots. So what was once green is now brown, very dissappointing. I am tempted to ask for a new pair. Aside from that these were comfortable right out of the box and worked well.

Super comfortable!

I LOVE these boots! I haven't purchased Hoka shoes before because I typically like a slimmer shoes and they are always so bulky. These are bulky in terms of appearance but they are light on your feet. They are VERY comfortable. I hiked several hours, several days in a row and wore them the whole time and they were perfect. Worth the money for happy feet that can keep hiking!

Great hiking shoes

I love these shoes for hiking. I tried 3 different kinds of hiking shoes/boots before I landed on these. These have the perfect amount of arch support for me, and I love the bigger toe boxes. I especially like the design around the ankles--it provides ankle support without pinching, rubbing, or constricting. One thing I would like to change is the laces--I find round laces don't stay tight/tied as well as flat laces (but that's easily fixed and could also be user error). Overall, great shoes and I'm glad I finally found some I can hike in to my heart's content.

Really nice boots

Really comfy, sized up 1/2 a size and they fit great with thicker socks. I tried on several pairs in store and kept coming back to these for style as well as comfort.

Beware small, low toe box

I'm a big fan of Hoka, several pairs of Clifton 8. These boots seemed to fit but have a very small, low toe box, crunching toes, making feel tight. Size 11. Look great. Too bad, have to return.

Comfortable for day hikes

Light hiking boots, more like high top trail runners than true boots. Flexible and comfortable for my narrow feet. Durability remains to be seen, but they appear to be more cheaply mass produced than my earlier Hoka boots. The boot laces are round and do not stay tied, so I replaced them with laces from my old boots.

not waterproof

These hiking boots are great for normal hikes, but mine leaked on the toe top before the laces when hiking through marshy terrain. I’ve had them too long to do anything about it. I’ll probably still get more Hoka hiking boots, but will have to trust them less for wet terrain.

Good for 1 day hikes/ low altitude hikes

Very COMFORTABLE & good GRIP. These will work just fine for one day hikes & low altitude hikes. DON'T purchase these for long hikes or altitude gain above the 2,000 ft ;-) Although they are very comfortable be mindful they DON'T HAVE ANKLE SUPPORT.
