Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

A Great Basic
This is a great basic long-sleeve hiking shirt that I highly recommend. It’s a good fit, good fabric, minimalist stitching, and thumb loops to keep the sleeves from bunching up if wearing with layers. I really like the thumb loops on this shirt. They are comfortable when using them but lay totally flat when you aren’t so it feels like a regular cuff. The fabric is very stretchy and feels nice against the skin. It wicks moisture away well but the fabric is a little heavier than other similar shirts I have had in the past. I suggest it for seasons other than summer as I got a bit warm when wearing it in temperatures in the high 60s. As for for, I am 6’2” and 175lbs and the size medium fit perfect on all dimensions.
New, but not sure if better
As far as I can tell, this is the latest version of the long sleeve T from the REI Active Pursuits line. I tested this shirt while camping over 3 days in the Sierras during low 50s to mid 70s weather. Compared to the previous Active Pursuit T, I think this latest version has changed the fabric composition. Specifically this fabric seems thicker and heavier than the previous, and in my experience, feels more clingy to the skin if sweating, although it still breathes and moisture wicks decently. Relative to the previous version, I would say this is more mid-weight than lightweight, which isn't a bad thing if you're active during cooler temps. I did notice that this new fabric seems to hold on to odors - not sure why, but it came out of the packaging smelling like cardboard, and I could not shake it even after washing. As for the fit, it seems to generally be the same cut as the previous version, tighter around the arms and chest, but still loose in the torso.
Strong, long; I’m growing fond.
Where to start. I took this long sleeve out on what was planned for a 100+ mile run/hike of Section P of the Pacific Crest Trail, a test of fabric and odor abatement alike. Upon the initial wash, the shirt ran longer than expected. I am 5 foot 10 inches, at 180 pounds, receiving a size Large. The shirt fit more closely to an Extra Large in relation to a standard cotton t-shirt, such as a heavy weight Pro Club or Fruit of the Loom. Nonetheless, it came with, and was my daily wearing base layer. Temperatures ranges from 38F at night to 72F at peak heat hours; spanning elevations of 6,200 feet to 8,750 feet at lower peaks. We extended the trip to run peaks and to lakes, to which the shirt took a beating. Bush whacking, a week of sweat, an unexpected rain shower of two days, all of which didn’t phase the shirt. Even to the point of day hikers saying, “you look clean and smell good for being out for so long. Production wise, the softness is superb. The thumb holes were a little short to the knuckles, but useful over all. For a winter type shirt, it was thin and didn’t insulate to a level of comfort I’d recommend for winter use, but it was surprisingly durable on trail. Overall it saw nine nights over 178 miles (camp and exploration miles included).
A High-Performance Long-Sleeve Shirt
Let me start by saying that I am not a fan of long-sleeve shirts because I get too uncomfortably warm in them. The only time I wear a long-sleeve athletic shirt is under my TKD uniform to absorb the sweat. That being said, I am pleasantly surprised by how breathable and stretchy this shirt is. I didn't break out in a sweat wearing this shirt and going about my normal activities. Hiking and running in this shirt allowed me to forget that it is a long-sleeve. It wicked away sweat efficiently and dried quickly. The fabric is light and loose, making this shirt very comfortable to wear all day. I imagine this shirt will also be ideal for my mountain biking and night-time tennis matches.
Solid shirt, but not without issue
In general, solid product: comfortable, lightweight, soft fabric, seems durable. I primary use it for hiking, running, and mountain biking. Long sleeves provide decent protection from sun. I got size large, and it does not feel loose, even though sleeves are a bit too long. Design of the thumbholes is questionable, to say the least. Thumbholes are located too far inward, and are uncomfortable.
A reliable, multiuse longsleeve shirt
I already had a handful of the half-zip versions of this shirt and thought I'd add a little variety. The fit is the same between the two. These shirts are really comfortable for lounging, cool weather hiking and exercise, or just wearing out and about for the athlesiure look. For size, I can be a medium or large, tall or regular depending on the product. In these I go with a medium tall.
Exceptional product, but fits a little loose
A genuinely amazing shirt, this product really only has one major drawback, that being its relatively loose fit. I usually run on the larger end of size smalls, but this shirt fit like a medium on me. I wore it across three different activities, those being running, hiking, and weightlifting and it performed well during all of those. While running, it wicked moisture away very well and was lightweight enough that it prevented me from overheating. While hiking, I used it as a base layer while attempting to summit a fourteener. While not the warmest option, it served its purpose well and kept me from getting too cold. For me, however, it performed best during weightlifting activities. Its light design allowed for a great range of motion and kept me cool throughout the workout. Overall, it's an excellent product, and if the rating system allowed it, I would've rated it at a 4.5 instead of a 4.
Great workout shirt
I have a lot of different moisture wicking shirts for my workouts and was very pleased with this one. The shirt is a little more loose fitting, which seemed to help keep it drier. The long sleeve was nice for a mild day, did not feel too hot. Overall very happy with the shirt.
Super Comfortable and Breathable!
The REI Co-op Active Pursuits Long-Sleeve T-shirt is my go-to shirt for almost everything. It’s incredibly breathable, which keeps me cool even during long hikes or workouts. The fabric feels soft on my skin, and I love how it moves with me without feeling restrictive. I wear it all the time, whether for outdoor activities or just casually. It’s held up really well after a lot of use, and I highly recommend it!
Great Fit
I bought this shirt because it came in tall sizing and fit me perfectly. Usually to get extra sleeve or body length, I have to buy a size up and the shirt is loose and billowy in the stomach area. With the tall sizing I was able to find a perfect fit.
