I love how tough these pants are. If you're hiking through the brush or anything that can scratch or catch fabric, they are rock solid. They are great in rain. It would be nice if there were back pockets, but Fjallraven seems to have an aversion to them! You can't really load up the pockets on the legs with too much but you can carry the essentials. The fabric is on the thicker side so these are probably not good going into the summer months. Like the shade of blue as well. I do wish that REI would carry the shorter length
I spent several days shoveling snow in these pants when they arrived. They don't cling or accumulate sweat. They really do repel the wetness of the snow. The weight is just right for winter activity. Vents are great. Pockets, adjustable cuff design... All wonderful. But I found a problem when I wore them to pull my pulk: I can't comfortably use the leg loops on my harness due to the thin, stretchy material at the crotch of the pants. Since the loops are essential to keep the hip belt from riding up, and winter trekking with my pulk is what I bought the pants for, it's a real disappointment. Is there a similar pant without the thin, stretchy material at the crotch? If so, I'll get them and keep these for all other winter activities.
These are reasonably high waisted, but the legs are quite large, and the pockets add bulk in odd places. I am 5'8" 150 lbs, and the size 10 fit in the waist, but they were quite large in the back and legs, they looked quite strange on me. The large pockets are no doubt functional, but I question the placement, and I put things in my backpack mostly, having large pockets to put lots of things would be uncomfortable for walking and make me feel like a pack animal.
First off, I wish the vidda pro’s came in a curved fit like the Kebb. My waist is smaller than my hips, so the pants keep riding down. Also, my thighs and bum are tight in the pants. I got a 42 which I believe would have been fine if I got the kebb curved, but the vidda’s are pretty straight somewhat similar to a men’s fit. The mid waist was a nice rise. The pocket on the right front leg is great and has a bit of an extender which I liked a lot. I found the front pocket on the left leg much tighter and hard to fit anything into. The colour in the orange is awesome and looks great. Some loose threading on the corners of pockets. All in all, good pants for someone who isn’t curvy with thick legs. I’m 5’10 and found the 42’s length to be OK. I wear a 34 inseam or or long pant and my American Eagle jeans are 8 Long.
I love the pants, I would've loved to buy the regular Vida pants, not ventilated, but they didn't have my size in a color I wanted. My first pair of Vida pants I bought are women's size US 27-28. I wear them but they are a bit big and I can't wear them hiking because the fabric bunches enough around the waist to rub. Then I got some Vida's in men's size US 27-28 and they are smaller than the women's 27-28 and fit me great. But now they don't have any that small in men's, so I found the women's vented in the right size, 26 and color. I wish that they kept the regular number of belt loops, and also I wish they didn't make the slash pockets smaller. I would have also preferred the G1000 material in the gusseted crotch instead of the lighter weight fabric. But nonetheless, I love the pants and I love the dark olive solid color. If you spend a lot of time outdoors, hiking, working in the woods etc, the pants are awesome.
I bought these to wear on snowy days, but so far have only worn them on colder than normal days. Best thing: they fit a woman’s body and the waist is high enough. . I love all the pockets; especially useful when I’m doing my National Park volunteering and need to have easy access to several small items. The phone pocket inside the right leg pocket is very handy.
One other reviewer mentioned this, but wanted to reiterate how much more fitted these are than previous version. I am 5’10 125lbs and have the old version in size 29 and was thinking of going a size smaller because they were pretty baggy. I’m glad I did not and stuck with 29, I consider them a good fit.
