Love it! I bought a second!

Great hydration backpack! I bought one for my oldest son for camp this summer, and it worked so well that I bought a second for my younger son for MTB team practice. I chose it because it has room for spare tubes, a snack, and a rain jacket—or whatever else my kids might need. Plus if they get too hot they can take off layers and throw them in. The magnet attachments for the hydration tube are pretty handy, and both kids (currently 5’10” and 5’7”) find it to be very comfortable. The bite valve on my oldest’s hydration pack developed a hole. Maybe he accidentally bit too hard? We briefly considered returning the entire thing to REI, but that’s dumb and seems like a huge waste especially since the rest of the pack works great. I did a little Googling and found out that this can be an issue, and I found a 2-pack of replacement bite valves on Amazon for $6 from HydraPak (price and brand circa August 2023). They fit perfectly, and I’ll keep buying them as needed. Having a replaceable bite valve seems like the only extra thing we needed to give this hydration pack the longevity that we’re looking for. I think it’s reasonable. (And I’d buy them from REI if they carried them.) Also, this has only been an issue for one of the backpacks. Great pack, great hydration system, great capacity both for carrying water and extra stuff for the journey.
