Amazing e- bike
This bike is AMAZING! I’m a 59 yr old female with neck, back and hip problems. Bike is effortless and fun to ride! I feel safe and comfortable. I ride on the Ohio bike path, a paved smooth “road“, and go on average 15 miles per hour on only level 1 assist. I’ve only had my bike a couple weeks.I’ve been out twice and did 15 miles each time. I can almost keep up with my husband. He is an avid cyclist. This bike has given us the ability to ride and do something together. I highly recommend it! Great bike and good price.
Nice bike!
First e-bike purchase, this one is my husbands. Nice bike! Rides nice. Seat was a bit uncomfortable but we bought a new one. Great bike but subpar brakes. Some difficulty stopping quickly at 20 mph. We are upgrading the disc brakes to hydraulic. I have put 60 miles on this bike. Climbs hills nice with the throttle assist. I do wish the battery life was a bit longer. Overall nice buy for the price.. but plan on upgrading the brakes until cannondale changes the cheap brakes. REÍ staff super building the bike and making adjustments. REÍ staff very knowledgeable and accommodating.
1st E-Bike!
This is our first EBike and very pleased with this low step-through model in Jade color. Which the color looks amazing in person. Aside from doing research and knowing this was a good entry level bike for the value...this was perfect for my wife. The medium was a good size for us. 5'-6" and 5'-10". I have 2 other Cannondales in medium also. I have about 50 miles on it so far. It has been fun to ride around neighborhoods, local state parks and bike trails. The assist on low is powerful enough on flat roads even when in higher gears. The throttle assist is really fun also. I might have gone with the EQ model but it didn't come in Jade. And the fenders would be an issue for my bike hitch style. I would rather have the display on the EQ model though. But I am told it can be replaced later. Mechanical brakes seem a little under powered especially bc you are riding faster naturally on an ebike. The light works great. Waiting on Cannondale to release the front rack that attaches to the holes on the stem. They told me it would be in September. REI did a good job assembling answered all my questions.
Excellent bike, terrible brakes
The value of this bike is insane. My wife loves it, great for cruising around town. However, plan on upgrading the brakes immediately. The included mechanical brakes are the worst I have ever seen on any level of bike. For a bike that can easily reach 20+ mph thanks to the electric motor, it is borderline dangerous that they included such incompetent brakes, you really have to squeeze like crazy to get them to have any braking power.
Started off okay, but then..
Could've been great. The entire power system failed on me about 8-9 months in, no more assist, no more throttle. Several parts would need to be replaced to fix it..no thks. The brakes are terrible, and unlike other e bikes that are hundreds less, does not have a digital screen indicating speed or gear. You can still tell what gear you're in, but the digital screen on cheaper bikes is much better, and safer to use especially while at speed. Will be returning.
Oh the Places We Will Go!
Got this bike 3 months ago and it is by far the best! I love everything about it!! The Jade color is beautiful! People make fun of e-bikes, I’m convinced that they don’t know what they’re talking about!
Great beginner ebike
Great beginner commuter ebike. Very limited gears. Not good for fotness for experienced rider but excellent for someone new to biking.
