Nice value fishing kayak
Purchased this on sale for ~$650. It is my first fishing kayak. PROS: Seat is comfortable. I like the ability to fold it and get the elevated seating. Stable enough to stand up and stretch legs. Light enough for me to carry and load/unload from my Honda accords roof rack. Plenty of room for storage in front and back. CONS: No handle in the back. And there is really nothing else to connect a strap to in the back. Makes it awkward to connect a rear strap for driving. Can’t really come up with anything else I don’t like about it enough to write here. OVERALL: For the money I feel it is a great value. I use this on small to medium size lakes for small to medium size fish. It gets the job done. I have no regrets with my purchase.
Good fishing kayak for a heavier tall person
I love the ability to switch out the skeg for a trolling motor mount. The seat is really comfortable. I primarily purchased it for fishing the two times I had it out it was great. I'm 6,1" 280lbs and it's stable to sit. But Going from the seat position to thr stadium height for me is a little wobbly. But I've done it. Standing prib won't try it unless I get pontoon stabilizers. But overall love it.
Fantastic kayak, but not for everyone
I bought this kayak for wildlife photography on small to medium lakes. It's been great for me, but isn't necessarily the right choice for everyone. Pros: Incredible stability. I can comfortably stand and swing my eight pound camera around without issue. When seated, I'm pretty sure you'd only be able to capsize if you were trying pretty hard. Shallow draft. It's easy to get into some very shallow areas with this boat. Cargo space. The majority of the hull is flat, which makes it easy to fit a lot of different stuff onboard. Seat comfort. I've spent up to five hours straight in the kayak and could comfortably go longer. Mixed: Tracking. With the skeg down, it's not the straightest-tracking kayak out there, but it's good enough for my needs. With it up, you'll constantly fight to keep the boat from spinning. Foot pegs. They're a little difficult to move and one of mine broke after just two uses. Thankfully, I was able to fix it with a bolt and nut from the hardware store. Cons: Weight. At over 60 pounds, this boat isn't the easiest thing to lift onto a roof rack. Handles. The lack of a rear handle makes it a lot harder to move this boat around in certain situations. The side handles are strong, but awkward to use to move the boat more than a few dozen yards. Stern tiedown. There's no good point to secure the stern when loaded on a roof rack. The skeg mount is far too fragile for this purpose. Overall, if you're just looking to get out for some casual paddling, there are probably other boats that will be a better choice. However, if you want an incredibly stable craft that's comfortable for long days on the water, then you'll be quite happy here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other wildlife photographers or anglers.
Great fishing kayak
As another reviewer mentioned, the only CON is that there's no carrying handle on the back. Not a big deal. I will buy a pair of aftermarket handles and add them myself. I purchased the optional transom and added a trolling motor.
