Great Capacity, Easy Filtration
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once I got the Hydrapak unpacked and set up, it was quite easy to use! To prep the filter you just shake it in a bowl of water to remove any debris from the filter. From there, you just screw the lid on after filling up the Hydrapak with water. The Hydrapak feels durable, the handle attached to the side is made of a quality material similar to what is found in heavy-duty trail or river gear. The water bottle itself collapses for easy storage and has a massive 3L capacity. It's shocking because really it feels like it takes up the footprint of a 1.5L bottle but has double the capacity. Water flow out of the filter is good (I have a picture of it flowing into my sink). The filter is rated for 1,500L of filtration which would give you about 500 uses out of the filter.
Greatest Product Failure In Years
I purchased this for a solo 12 day high alpine hunt in the Cascades. Having limited and far away water sources from where I camp, I figured this would be a great option for me. In principle, it is. The filter failed after one day. What I mean by this, is that for the first 3-4 uses, the filter poured in a way that I could use. With nearly crystal clear water being used the whole time, the next day it crapped out. The output flow was maybe 1 drop a second. There are 20 drops in 1ml. I would have had to wait 5.5 hours to fill a liter... I figured that at least I had a storage container. That SAME DAY, the "leak proof" lid began to leak... Couldn't believe it. For 11 days of this hunt I had to carry this in a large zip lock bag to avoid leaking out all my water. It failed immediately to do the two things it was designed to do. Junk. Obviously it will be returned.
no way to clean in the backcountry
Love this filter. Have the 1.5 and 3l bags. Filters quickly and can be used as a water bottle and drink straight from the bag. Only downside is that I’m not aware of a way to back flush/clean the filter if it gets clogged in the back country. I think instructions say to soak with bleach, but I don’t carry a way to do that with me. As long as you have backup tabs or drops this is a great option.
Used it at pictured rocks and it worked great. Id say we probably filtered 35L of water through it and the filter is still going strong. Only issue I had with it was it can be a bit of a pain to fill in fast moving water because the air is fighting getting out of the same hole you are trying to fill it through. I would recommend using it in conjunction with the HydraPak Seeker waterbag.
Awesome!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hydrapak Seeker 3L water pack is a really great idea. You can take your water anywhere or apparently grab some water from pretty much anywhere since it says it filters out 99.99% ecoli and parasitic cysts. If you're an extreme hiker or "adventurer" this could keep you alive.
Helpful Hydrapak
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Seeker by Hydrapak was very helpful on a long hike in the mountains. We couldn't wait to use it and so happy to have it filter the cool mountain water. I loved the compactness and effectiveness of the design.
HYDRAPAK Seeker + 3L
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] HYDRAPAK Seeker + 3L is a flexible water bag that has a filtration top to clean water! It also comes with a tiny bag to store in after use and is reusable for years! It is a bag tricky at new buy but worth the buy when you learn to use and you will! A 3L size is big for a long walk and can be hooked because the bag has side apparatus to have a hook to go through! 3L is enough for most hikes and other items of activities in day or night! Cleaning this bag is easy yet may require a brush! All the system items like filter make water taste yum
Your travel and backpacking best friend!
The built-in filter is such a game-changer! We recently took our seeker+ with us on a trip to South America and found so many uses for it. And bonus, when not in use it packs down to fit in your pocket. We filled up from everyday water sources (think hotel tap water) to waterfalls without a single issue. 3L is a lot of water for a casual day hike but it's perfect for car camping, carrying empty into the backcountry then filling at camp, or travel. Oh and the filter is compatible with the Flux bottle as well.
Great Addition For Our Many Adventures!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hydrapak - Seeker + 3L is a must have if you are like me and my family and enjoy survival-ish adventures or weekend getaways full of hiking and nature etc. It is a self filtration station/water bottle or bladder all in one. An ingenious idea! It can be frozen as an ice pack or used in your camping kit for use as a filter bag. It's lightweight, has a low profile handle, is filtration compatible and comes with a storage bag when folded or crushed down making it easier to tote with you. Awesome product!
Makes water crisp!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hydrapak was a handy and convienent way to carry water around in places/situation where I usually wouldn't have water readily available. It's easy to pack for a day at the beach or the park or even for a hike. Once filled up, it fits conveniently in my outing bag. My favorite part of this pack is the crisp taste my water seems to have when I use this pack! There's no added aftertaste from the container like with some other water bottles.
