Super Fast Flowing Filter
Excellent fast flowing water filter! Very comparable to the competitor (that looks exactly the same. you may know). Using this filter with the CNOC Water Bag and works great. I got 2 years out of the competitors filter without any issues. If this gets the same range or more, I will be a repeat customer.
Great little filter
Great little filter that fits on my soft flask for my running vest. I thought the filter would displace more water than it actually did, so the water loss was very minimal. The flow as smooth as well.
Unreliable, cannot recommend
This filter was incredibly slow the first time I used it after purchasing just over a year ago. I carried it for backup only on a few day trips and tried to use it on a ski mountaineering trip last weekend, but experienced complete inability to pass any water. I've tried soaking it and backflushing it as recommended with no success. Definitely sticking with my (heavier) but reliable Sawyer! Unfortunately I'm out of the REI return window so I'll see if Hydrapak can replace.
Great for Self-Supported Adventure Runs
I have used my filter on two long, full day adventure runs. One in Yosemite and one running around the Timberline trail. I paired mine with the 600ml UltraFlask and used it to both drink directly from and also to squeeze filtered water into my reservoir. It worked perfectly and made filtering so much more efficient, especially since I didn't have to carry an extra squeeze bag to filter everything which saved on both weight and space in my run vest.
I got sick
This is the only filter I’ve owned. I followed all the precautions regarding freezing but something must have happened to the filter. I wish there was a way to tell if it is broken or needs replacing. I wouldn’t say I’ve really used it a ton for it to fail already. I loved how small and light it is and I enjoy all my Hydrapak stuff. I got sick and needed treatment for the contaminated water illness.

Doesn't seal properly on BeFree bottle
The filter doesn't seal properly on the BeFree water bottle – that is made by HydraPak.The filter collar is too deep for it to seal. Also – do NOT like that filter cap cap isn't replaceable; if that breaks, the whole filter needs to be replaced.
Couldn’t be happier
Excellent product. Replaced my old bulky filter. Just finished a 3 day trip in the sawtooth mountains, by the end of the trip everyone was using my filter for water bc it was so easy and convenient.
Weight saver
Works well with 3L seeker. I was able to use 3 bladders to carry water and didn’t have to worry about a “clean” bladder. Filtered the water into a 1L Nalgene and kept on going.
Really good so far
Great filter so far. Paired it with a soft bag and it worked great for an eight day trip in the mountains. We’ll see how it works over the year.
Great filter
A light and simple filter. I have been using it on long trail runs that have reliable water access. Really easy to drink from while running.
