Ouch!
Bought these because I trust the brand from past purchases I The fit was spot on , loved the material, colors were great . Unfortunately the chamois looked a little short . After comparing them too all my other shots I found them to be 1-2 inches shorter. After several uncomfortable rides they are going back . 5’10 160lbs I’m not big .
Good shorts for the money
I got these shorts for just under $100 on sale. I am 6'1", 187 lbs, and often find myself right between L and XL sizes. These shorts in L fit well. The chamois is pretty comfortable. While I have only had these shorts a short time, if they are like the other Pearl Izumi kit I have had, I expect them to be pretty durable. I don't see myself using the small pockets on the legs, but they certainly don't get in the way. All in all, I am pretty pleased with these shorts.
Save your money
Not sure what Pearl Izumi is thinking. Similar bib shorts I have purchased in the past have been top notch. Very comfortable for long rides. These shorts have a so-so chamois and very uncomfortable straps. The straps are Lycra and dig into your shoulders. Even putting them on is difficult as the straps tend to curl and are difficult to straighten. REI should find another manufacturer.
Good but supising...
The bibs are very comfortable and well made. The only problem I have with them is they allow the sun’s rays thru the lower legs and I sunburned both legs while not expecting that to happen.
