A Good Adventurous Exploring Shirt
A great summertime adventurous shirt. I did several hikes in different weather conditions and wore the shirt around town. I am 5’ 11” and 185lbs, and the Large size shirt fit perfectly. The material is lightweight, comfortable, and flexible. It’s best suited for a warm summer day. When the weather turned windy or in the shade, the shirt did not provide any warmth. The shirt offers no chafing or itching feeling. I appreciated the vibrant color. I like to be seen for safety when exploring. I would also wear the shirt as an everyday shirt. It provides comfort and sun protection. I did not give the review a 5-star because of the shirt's cost. While I appreciate the shirt's look, feel, and functions, I don’t think the value is there for the price.
The Perfect Shirt?
This shirt is a classic example of the quality that I have come to expect from Arc’teryx products. The green color is beautiful, vibrant and bold without being overly showy. I typically wear large shirts, mostly due to my long torso. The large Cormac Crew long sleeve fit perfectly with just the right length to avoid the bare midriff when reaching or climbing. The sleeves are an ideal length and stretchy enough to pull up and stay out of the way when needed without being too constrictive. The triangular underarm stitching pattern is nice for freely allowing arm movement and is easily noticeable due to the attractive exposed stitching pattern. My first test of this shirt was during a mid-day pickleball game on a humid day. This shirt kept me nice and cool, and was great at blocking the sun. I have otherwise found this shirt to be amazingly comfortable for hiking, climbing, and generally just wearing around. It is light enough to wear even in the summer. It dries quickly, and thus far it has managed to do a pretty good job at fending off the odors that tend to accumulate in base layer garments. I definitely expect to wear this on my next kayak or canoe trip or any time I need a light, comfortable, sun protective shirt that also looks good.
Great Shirt for Running & Other Outdoor Activities
So I used this shirt for a few different activities including train running, indoor treadmill, and outdoor climbing. The fit is pretty normal for what you might expect, the material feels really durable and did a great job with wicking moisture away. When used for running, I sweat A LOT so this material didn't stand a chance at wicking away all the moisture and was completely soaked through by the time my runs (both indoor and outdoor) were finished. That being said, it did not stick to my skin like other materials do when soaked, which was great. Also I haven't yet found a material that can wick away moisture fast enough for my sweating during high intensity workouts. However, this did a great job compared to other similar shirts, and was great for light sweating while I was using it while climbing outside in the cold. The color is very visible outside so I felt like I was easy to see as well. It is almost bright enough to be considered like a high-vis green. I did feel like the shirt is pretty stylish and feels like a really sturdy shirt that I anticipate will last a long time. Overall I would recommend this shirt for hiking, trail running, or even as a base layer that wicks away moisture when working or recreating outdoors. The things I liked most about this shirt are: Color - vibrant but not as obnoxious as wearing a high vis neon vest Moisture Wicking - when used as a base layer it kept me from getting soaked Durability - the material and stitching feel thick and tough
Excellent all-around long sleeve technical shirt
This is an excellent all-around long sleeve technical shirt that did not disappoint. It has an excellent high quality feel and is noticeably comfortable under strenuous activity. I have worn this shirt both stand alone and as a base layer in hiking and running outings. The Lampyre Heather color has the added bonus of being highly visible to fellow members of hiking or running party when distance naturally separates you on a trail. Overall, I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a performance offering!
Breathable Wicking Long Sleeve
I wore this shirt on an easy day hike that went from a chilly morning to a warmer afternoon. Ended up having to take my outer layer off and this shirt cooled me off immediately without letting me get chilly. It wicked away the sweat and let the breeze through. I also wore it playing some pickleball and jogging later in around 45 to 55 degree weather and it was good, just a little cold if I didn't continue moving. I like the fact that it had loose fitting sleeves without elastic on the end and the color that I have (yellow) really stood out. The collar was also loose fitting but comfortable. All in all it's a great shirt for any activity in the cooler fall days, but I wouldn't count on it keeping you warm if the temp drops closer to freezing.
Light, breathable, active long sleeve
I've been hiking in the Colorado front range over the past several weeks with this long sleeve and I must say, it delivers. It's light, breathable, and protects well against the sun on 90F+ days. From the sleeves to the torso, the quality and fit is spot on. The neck is slightly loose, but that's not enough of a nuance to derail the product integrity. Highly recommend!
Improved and airy and soft
Picked this up on a whim while browsing. I have half a dozen other arcteryx shirts and hoodies. You can definitely tell a difference with the new fabric used. I like it a lot, it feels very soft and airy. The fit is loose around the torso and neck, but on my frame the neck cut line doesn’t do any of that strange “pop up” reported by others. 6’-0” 190lb athletic frame. The arms fit well, and have a perfect length that is long but not excessive. I can still roll the sleeves up my forearms due to the stretch the shirt material gives. I haven’t run or hiked excessively in it yet, we’ll see how it holds up.
Great shirt for cooler weather outdoor activities
First out of the package my wife asked "I like the color, do they make that in a woman's small". So the color passed the test! The color scheme of the shirt is unusual, so I like it. It is not obnoxious bright (that I don't like unless mountaineering where I want to be clearly seen) so that is good. I tried it as a night shirt - worked well and very comfortable. I used it for yard work under a goretex rain coat - worked well, was damp with sweat but comfortable and not cold while working. Third test was on the open trail hiking and it was a little tight in the shoulders, but still worked well. The only thing I would like to see is a hight collar on the shirt to protect the neck from breezes and sun. Maybe an inch higher coming up the neck would work fine.
Solid performance shirt
All around solid long sleeve performance shirt for trail running / hiking / outdoor pursuits. Would classify as mid weight / three season given not quite as light as other options but doesn’t have the heft of a winter layer
Super comfy and breathable and bright
This shirt is super breathable and comfortable. I love the fit, it is an athletic fit that's a little longer in the torso and arms. I sized it to be a little more snug with a S so I could layer with it in the winter. I'm really impressed with how comfy it is. The color is quite bright, which isn't exactly my style, but it's as pictured, so you should be able to tell if you'd like it. I've worn this shirt backpacking and trail running and been very happy in both scenarios.
