Very Loud, Rings Forever, Easy to Ring

The only bell I have across all of my bikes that actually gets people's attention. It's loud and has a lasting ring that seems to stand out and pierce through crowded noise to wake the selfish beltline hoggers and bike lane walkers up. It is also very easy to ring in the real world. Some bells I suppose could be louder, but this one is just a quick flick -- no special process. Sadly, mine is not made in the USA or Europe where the labor rate could explain the price -- it's made in Taiwan (but at least Taiwan has 60% higher labor rates than China so hopefully the folks making these can afford a good life).

Excellent

I love the sound of this bell, and scouring YouTube and Instagram confirmed that for me before purchasing. It’s not the made in U.S.A version, but I actually liked the tone of this one better than the bigger version.

Poor quality - threads stripped during install

Same issue as another reviewer with internal threads stripping during installation. I purchased 4 of these bells for my bikes. Two of them became stripped during installation and couldn't be fully tightened or removed. I ended up having to have them cut off. I've bought at least a dozen bells over the years and never experienced anything like this. Shockingly poor quality for this price point.

SPURCYCLE Compact Bell

Made in Taiwan. Pure garbage. After attempting to mount the bell on the handlebars, brass thread insert stripped, couldn’t get it to seat properly with the provided screw, had to cut the bell off the handlebars in order to return it. I do not recommend this product, for $35.00 you would think the product could be easily installed without hassle. Avoid the frustration and avoid entirely.

Better than the original Spurcycle!

I have a few original Spurcycle bells which I love. The new compact version has a lower price but in my opinion a better design. Sound is as loud and crisp as the original but the installation is a lot easier. Quality product made in Taiwan as my Specialized Swork.

threads stripped trying to install

Interior threads stripped trying to install and couldn’t tighten or loosen. Will have to return. Apparently this is pretty common.
