These shoes are very comfortable and look great, but the sole material is terrible. I bought them for my daily running routine, which includes a 1-mile run on pavement before hitting the trails. After just five days, I noticed the sole was already wearing out. Now, there’s no traction or grip—my casual office shoes have better grip than these! Unfortunately, they turned out to be a waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend them for serious runners.
For one, don’t wear this shoe sockless as it gave me horrible blisters. I typically don’t wear socks when I run in temps over 80F and never have blister issues with my New Balance or NNormal shoes. These left me walking home barefoot after just 2 miles out. Also, despite the stack height being listed as higher in the heel than the forefoot, the shoe is made to be worn and ran in up on the toes and at speed. Despite the description of the shoe saying it can even tackle ultra distances, hiking or running slowly is very odd due to the shape of the shoe. The plastic plate is there, but isn’t super stiff, it just takes all ground feel away. There is also zero arch or medial support in the shoe and with the shape of the last my foot was rolling inward very awkwardly to where my left knee which I had previously torn the meniscus in was very negatively affected. This is a shoe that feels as though it was made for a very specific type of foot and with a very specific stride and speed and is absolutely not able to adapt to anything outside of that. I had wished it would work for me, but it does not.
Foot hole too small and tight on ankle. Felt like I was wearing a tight sock. Liked the idea of the shoe, great color, and love Salmon’s lace system so I was disappointed these didn’t work out.
Very comfortable without being squishy. Forms a nice seal that keeps nearly all dirt and pebbles out without being irritating.
