Might be too big for checked baggage on planes

Bought the AirPorter Pack Duffel so I could check my backpack when flying. It accommodated my Osprey Ariel 65 backpack with lots of room to spare. Pack was very easy to get into the duffel. But, the shoulder strap is not removable or stowable, so might get entangled in any baggage-handling machinery at the airports. Also, Southwest only accepts baggage of 60 linear inches or less under their free checked baggage policy. This duffel exceeds that by about 2.5 inches and might have cost me $75 to check as "oversize baggage". So I returned it and got the REI Pack Duffel instead. It is 60 linear inches, accommodates my Osprey Ariel 65, and the shoulder strap is removable.

Use every time I travel

I have had this for 5 years now and I love it ! I always bring this when I travel to put my travel backpack in and it has done a great job protecting my bag (65 liter backpack). It also has extra space so sometimes if I have extra souvenirs on the way home I’m able to use the bag to make extra space. The only downer is the travel strap (which mine is older but it does stow away) really digs into my shoulder and the whole thing is very cumbersome to carry. Maybe having two shoulder straps like a backpack would be better or and extra handle to help manage it.

Does it's job well

Over the years, my bag's gotten plenty of scuffs, some snags, and I've lost lots of zippers to baggage handling while flying. I replaced my bag, and decided to try to protect it a little better while flying. I've used this a few times now, and it does it's job perfectly -- my bag comes out pristine on the other side. It can be a little awkward using a single shoulder strap on a heavy pack, but I'd rather deal with that at the airport over having the extra size/weight of another strap when collapsing the duffel and putting it in my pack. As a bonus, there's lot's of extra room. I traveled with a 65L pack, and put in two extra closed foam sleeping pads and 3 1-liter water bottles, and had no issues with space.

Holds a big pack securely

My daughter has a big Gregory 80L pack and this held it securely along with her poles and shoes for a flight to Yukon to do some backpacking. Not too hard to carry either, although of course it's always awkward carrying a backpack when it's not on your back.

Spacious and well-designed

Bought for a flight to Patagonia - was able to hold two empty 55L packs and two lofted sleeping bags with a little room to spare (more if you pack the sleeping bags down). The bag itself doesn't have much structure. Easy to carry and seems durable.
