Perfect poles for a Busy Camp Mom!

I was thrilled to hike with these poles, and genuinely surprised by their strength and versatility. When I think of a “Lite” version I worry that it might not be as substantial as I need at 5’10.” But these poles didn’t disappoint! They were at once sturdy and springy, striking a beautiful balance between strength and responsiveness. This is my first pair with full cork handles and I LOVE them. The cork is my absolute favorite feature. Along with the adjustable straps, these poles provided much needed comfort and support for my “mommy wrists.” On my second hike I took my toddler in our backpack carrier and it was a significant improvement in stability and safety while carrying the extra “wiggly” load! He had a blast and on breaks; I couldn’t keep him from playing with them! He’s a little trekker in training…I adjusted them to a toddler sized pair for playing at lunchtime. I think these are the most easily adjustable poles I have had in 22 years of backpacking. The ease of use is unparalleled and essential for a camping mom-on-the-go! The only challenge I had with them was I couldn’t get one of the plastic safety tip covers off during unpacking, my husband and I tried and tried, but it was super stuck. Eventually a pair of pliers did the trick!

These trekking poles fell short in my book. The instructions are difficult to follow. And my big pain point is these poles don’t include the stretchy string to break them down effectively- so you basically either carry them at length which is over a foot even compacted or in 3 separate pieces. It also looked like it came with a small storage bag which was not included. I will be returning these and exchanging for a more reputable brand.

Sturdy and Well-Designed Poles

These are the best pair of trekking poles that I own. They are easily adjustable for all heights, the poles collapse into themselves with the external locks, which makes it perfect for travel, and they are very lightweight aluminum poles coming in at about 240 g. I wish that they came with rubber covers to protect the carbide tips. They do come with baskets which is nice for muddy or snowy terrain. And as someone who lives in Texas, my hands are constantly sweating in the heat during summer hikes, so the cork grips are perfect for soaking up the moisture. The straps are made from a soft material that don't irritate my hands when they rub against them, and if I need to adjust the strap to my hands, it is easy to lift the strap compartment, pull the strap to my desired length, and lock it securely in place. I don't have to worry about it getting loose as I hike. Overall, these are a great set of hiking poles, and I can't wait to use them later this year at Yosemite to get me up the summits!

Excellent poles for the Pacific Crest Trail

I got these poles delivered to me in Seiad Valley, CA because I’m thru-hiking the PCT and my cheap poles were not cutting it. So far, I’ve hiked about 65 miles (13,500 ft total ascent and 11,000 ft total descent) using these poles. In that time, I’ve hiked in almost every terrain (sand, mud, dirt, wood, rocks, snow, ice, etc.) and these poles preformed so well, I plan to hike all the way to Canada with them! The overall: Overall, I am extremely pleased with these poles and feel they have improved my hiking experience. They are very light and very well-made. The design for the grips and the mechanism for adjusting the straps is flawless! If I’m being really nit-picky, I would say that I don’t like that the screws on them are plastic, but they haven’t given me any problems at all. The straps: Adjusting them is so so so easy. Like, I actually have to stop myself from using it as a fidget toy, it’s so easy and fun! I don’t know why all poles aren’t this easy. It’s kind of like Airdrop -when you first use it you’re like “WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT?!” but then after a few days you are like “wait, don’t they all work that way?” and you can’t imagine living without it. The tab at the end of the straps is a genius design. It prevents you from accidentally pulling the strap completely out and having to re-thread it. The tab is also wider to give you more room to grip it in the event of having pulled out all the slack. That tab is stitched very nicely and securely, so I’m confident it’s durable. My old straps had a fraying bulky neoprene cover that I was used to but now that I’ve had these awhile, I much prefer the simple high-quality strap that these have. The grips: In short, the grips are great! But it’s actually so much more than that. Let me explain…they are shaped to your hand in a way that makes you hold them correctly and thus USE YOUR POLES CORRECTLY. I know that sounds stupid, but it positions your wrists in such a way that makes the end of the poles strike behind you and push you forward, like they are supposed to. It’s prevented me from using my poles to reach too far forward on ascents, which had been hurting my elbow from previous improper use. I discovered two or three slightly different effective and comfortable ways to grip the handles, depending on the slope of the terrain. Often, I will put my thumbs on the top of the grips, which I feel gives me more control and power (kind of like a crimp when rock climbing). The poles: The poles themselves are lightweight, so I find it easy to find a rhythm with them. I love that the pole adjustments are the lever type and not the twist type! I don’t like that the adjusting screws are plastic, but so far they haven’t given me any trouble. I think the metal ones have more texture, so it’s a bit easier for your fingers to get traction on them if you need to turn them to adjust the resistance. The tips: The tips have great grip and have been durable. I think it’s a “must” that a company offers or sells replacement tips for their poles. If they don’t, then your item has a short life. I believe Lekki does have replacements available if I ever need them. I appreciate that the poles came with little mud baskets too! I think it is a thoughtful touch, when they include an accessory that you would often use. I leave mine on all the time. I feel they are useful for not only mud but in all substrates. TLDR: Fantastic poles! Very light and very well-made. The design for the grips and the mechanism for adjusting the straps is flawless! No negatives really, just a great product.

Lightweight Poles With Comfy Cork Grips

The cork grips on these poles are super smooth and soft. Even when they got a little wet on my rainy hike, they weren’t uncomfortable in my hands. There are two places to adjust the height on each pole which gives you a lot of options. They are incredibly light weight and compact. I was easily able to strap them to my day pack. The ends each have a little basket to provide additional stability. Overall I’m a big fan. Leki knocked this one out of the park.

Solid Trekking Poles

Overall I am happy with these trekking poles. They are comfortable to hold, lightweight, adjustable, and easy to expand and collapse. I also like the angled grips for walking downhill. So far they seem sturdy and durable and I haven't had any issues with the poles collapsing while in use. When folded, the poles aren't as small as I would like, but still small enough to carry on the outside of my daypack. Leki does sell powder baskets for winter use, but they are not included. One other note is that these say "One Size" but the max length is 125 cm. I'm 5'7", and use them at 115 cm, so if you are taller than 5'10" or 6', you might want the men's version.

Liking the leki

Nice trekking poles for all those steep endeavors! I've been wanting to replace my over decade old option that have disintegrating hand holds. These leki cork handles and clip adjustment is exactly what I wanted. My friends have had several twist options of poles fail and so I've always stuck with the clip options this product has. While these are fairly light they are not the most featherweight option but I'm thinking it may help with durability. I use these for steep hikes or tricky terrain trail runs.

Nice looking and durable but bulky

Right out of the packaging, I immediately liked them. I've used one type of Leki pole before, but I prefer these as they have the external lever lock. They felt a little bulky, but sturdy. My favorite feature was how easy the straps adjust--an easy flip of the cap and pull on the strap. I used these to do the San Bernardino traverse in July (including SB Peak and Gorgonio), so they handled dirt, ash, granite fields (a lot) and snow fields (also a lot) over about 30 miles. The picture of the tips/baskets is from the end of the trip. On the downside, they felt bulky and not as lightweight as some others I have used. I kept waiting for that to feel better, but it never did. Also in the "con" column, the plastic adjusters did loosen at times and required readjusting at several points during the trip. I don't think this is a major issue, but the enclosed sizing chart is off--go with what you know/feels comfortable.

1000+ Miles Hiked

Bought these in May 2020. 4 years and over 1000 miles later, they are still amazing! Hiked 650 miles on the AT in 2023 & 2024 with them supporting me and a 27LB pack and they remain sturdy and as good as new. They are also compatible with my Durston trekking pole tent. They are not 'ultra' lightweight, but are in my opinion, the best mix of durable and lightweight poles on the market. The cork handles are super comfy, don't cause blisters, and don't slip when your hands get sweaty or wet. I am confident these poles will last me another 10+ years and I cannot recommend them enough!

PCT Hiker

Great poles and I use them for my trecking pole tent. My only complaint is that you have to tighten the clamps every day or so. I used these on the PCT for about a month to replace my Komperdell poles that I abused for 10years. They appear to be just as strong and should last just as long.
