I love this CamelBak pack! I've been looking for a good quality hydration pack for my trail runs, hikes and camping and this pack checks all the boxes. First off the CamelBak is very durable so it should last me many years to come. I also appreciate how easy the interior is to access. I've had other top zipping packs that were too small to easily see and grab gear at the bottom. Another great feature is the mesh back paneling that rests against the back, it is nice to have some clearance between my back and the backpack, which helps cut down on a sweaty back. Overall I would say this is a solid pack and would recommend!
Turned this into my new Pickleball backpack! I’ve been bitten by the pickleball bug and this pack has been perfect for the walk to and from our neighborhood courts! The large bladder ensures that I have plenty of water to, from, and at the courts. The mesh back panel keeps my back dry even in these hot Vegas temps. The side pockets are perfect for a tube of pickle balls, and the interior is spacious enough for 2-4 paddles and many more balls.
Have been able to use this pack in a few different ways and it is solid every time. Plenty of space for just about anything. Frame makes it a little more rigid than I am used to but for a bag that can hold more than other hydration packs I think its for the best. The go-to use being a hiking hydration daypack is spot on. Worked well on some around the town bike rides without the bladder as well. Only downside I found was that without the bladder it doesn't stand up super well on its own. The way the frame is designed it will tip forward if you try to stand it against a wall (just have to lean it more instead of standing it up). This wasn't a huge issue but kind of a goofy thing I noticed a few times. Main compartment has plenty of room for an extra layer or two along with some snacks for along the way. I also was able to throw my hammock and straps in for a nice pit stop along the way. Main compartment has some netted storage at the top that was able to keep sunglasses or keys from getting lost in the bottom of it. Front zipper pocket makes for quick access as well to keys or sunglasses or the like. I liked the bungee on the front having a clip as I was able to use it for my helmet when off the bike and then used it for a wet towel after a dip in a creek. Was glad to have it and not stuff the wet towel back in the bag. Pouch for bladder could be used for a laptop when not in use with the bladder. I threw some papers and a book in there for a ride down to the local library. Bladder is great CamelBak quality like you'd expect. Used the side bottle pockets with my 48oz Naglene and it was perfect. Sometimes side pockets aren't deep enough for the bigger bottles but these were great. Hip straps were a nice addition to use as a full bladder plus packed bag can get a little cumbersome so having those was nice. When biking/not using them, I was able to tuck them behind back mesh and keep them out of the way. (they were shipped like this and it made me realize that was the perfect spot for them) The outer material of the bag is pretty thin but seems to be sturdy and haven't noticed it getting snagged or anything so I'm thinking it will hold up pretty well.
This is a very functional and well built hydration pack. I used this pack during a day in the field conducting surveys for work. All day hydration and room to pack my lunch too! The folks at CamelBack continue to product great products! Would recommend with no reservations!
