Kids ride shotgun pro major flaw
Why did they make it so difficult to adjust the length of the foot rests?? Great design outside of this. Suck a poor design decision that it drips my review from 5 stars to 3 stars

Great addition to any bike with a step-thru design

Fit perfectly on the REI CTY e2.1 Electric Bike Item: 1987810002. Has nice adjustability but can be slow to adjust in the field. Initial setup can be a little confusing for 1st time installers. Overall build quality is pretty good, no sharp edges!

So much fun!

Love it! This is the most fun I’ve had on my bike. There’s nothing like having your kiddo right there with you as you ride. You do the install with provided Allen wrenches. Very easy set up. The leg length is also easy to adjust with an Allen wrench. No prob! I feel my kid is very safe on this with a helmet and riding in between my arms. If you have a lil adventure kid, I highly suggest this!

Amazing for family bike rides

Before this product came into our lives family bike rides were not fun, our daughter hated the ride behind carrier and couldn’t see anything in a seat behind us. She LOVED being up front and we loved taking her. It was easy to install and easy to ride, we loved it so much we bought one for my bike and one for my husbands. Highly recommend trying this with your kiddo!

My little guy loves it

I have not been able to get my 3 year old used to a Strider but he truly wants to join in on our bike rides. Now he can. I highly recommend this product.

Bike must have front shocks.

For this seat to work properly, the bike must have front shocks. I discovered this fact after buying the product and opening it. The manual clearly states, “must have front shocks”, but the REI website doesn’t mention it. I’m thankful I read the manual before removing my bike stem to install this product. The manual explains that front shocks create the required clearance between the front tire and the bike frame so your kiddo’s legs don’t hit the front tire when you turn. I appreciate REI’s return policy. They should update the product description.

Best KSR solution for modern mountain bikes

Initially, I purchased the Kids Ride Shotgun 2.0 to mount to my carbon Transition Patrol. My top tube and down tube are both tapered and of different widths. This made attaching the 2.0 via compression quite problematic. After more research, I decided to try the pro version due to the attachment style and adjustability features. All that being said, my 18 month old absolutely loves the KRS. The first day we went out 3 times for a total of 2 hours and 19 miles. As soon as he wakes up he says "bike?". He's ready to rip at 630 am! I can't wait to see his development and to ride with him on all sorts of adventures. Note, this pro version uses a custom headset spacer to attach just under the stem. You need 10mm of space for the spacer plus a little bit of clearance for your stem and the attachment thumbscrew. The custom spacer is solid as I just did 40 miles 13,000 ft of downhill at the resort yesterday. I can't recommend this product enough.

get your little ones on a big bike!

The shotgun pro is simply fantastic. I was really hesitant in making a purchase risk this costly, not knowing if the kids would enjoy it. But they completely love it, and they ask to ride the “big bike” every time they see it. Our 16 month old hangs on like an expert and doesn’t want to stop. The Pro model is a great option for carbon fiber frames as it does not clamp to the frame . Size adjustments can be time-consuming, but it is really great having so many incremental options.
