I live darn tough, but
These are pretty poor quality compared to my other darn toughs. They are way tighter on the calf than my other 15 pairs of darn tough. The graphic is stretched out on them, and i have pretty skinny calves, 6'5 200lbs. And theyre getting holes just a few months in. I love the brand but wont be buying any more of their graphic socks
Superior Socks
I love all of my Darn Tough socks. These are no different. The cushioning and fit are great, and the moisture wicking/quick drying/durability factors all go without saying. Whether day hiking or thru-hiking the AT, these will always be my go to socks. They didn't have my exact size, a Women's medium, but Men's medium works well enough, especially when wearing a sock liner underneath. I wear Injinji wool liners, to be specific, and they pair super well, just making the arch compression and cushioning that much better.
Too Tight / Run Small
I have a bunch of Darn Tough hiking and running socks, always a big fan. Unfortunately these miss the mark. Read the reviews about being tight fitting but I have skinny ankles (6'1" / 165lbs) so decided to give it a try anyways. Well the reviews are right, these are way too tight all around. The socks look visibily stretched out and all my toes feel smashed together. I wear size 11 shoes and have never had issues with size L Darn Tough. So I'd either size up or skip these ones.
Size up, fit tighter than other darn tough socks
These fit much tighter on my ankles than other darn tough socks. Like the fabric stretches so that it turns white and the images on it are distorted. My ankles are on the skinnier side.... This doesn't make them unwearable or anything, mostly superficial. Theyre not bad socks but the darn tough boot and micro crew socks that i own that are thicker than these, are leagues better. I bet if i sized up i wouldnt have anything negative to say.
The Perfect Running Sock
I've been training for a marathon and CANNOT run without these socks. I've tried cycling through others on my runs and every time I circle back to these. Now I always run in them. Never slide around, wick away the sweat and not a single blister and I've put in numerous 20 mile days!
The most comfortable running sucks I have ever owned. They are very breathable and don't get too sweaty even in the summer heat.
Darn Good Socks
The socks are great, the size was accurate for my feet, but not for my GIANT calves...I had to give them to my special friend!
