I loved these pants when I first tried them on, as they were very flattering. I bought them for a trip to Norway and wore them on the plane. They were comfy for the journey, but I couldn’t wear them for the rest of the trip because they’d stretched out so much! The bum was saggy, the waistband was loose and the flattering shape was gone. I guess they really meant “stretch” when they named them Stretch Trousers. Which is a bummer, I think these should retain some structure while still being flexible enough to move around (or sit) in. I’ll have to wash and dry them after each wear to snap them back together, which will shorten their lifespan. If it weren’t for this issue (and the fact that they don’t offer tall sizes) they’d be a 10/10.
I was hopping Fjallraven would come out with a pair of pants with a higher waist for over 60 women and not only did they do so they did so with style They fit will, are slimming, and the material is very comfortable to wear. The forest green is a beautiful color I ended up purchasing the black color also. Love them Hopefully Fjallraven will come out with more colors such as blue, khaki, and maroon.
I tried on this pant. LOVED the high rise and the fabric. Front pockets ample. Zipper pocket on thigh too small for cell phone. No back pockets. "R" Length is 32". Euro 42 is a size 10.
These are the only pants from Fjallraven I've found that fit my hips without cutting into my stomach (hint - we need more material all around in the back or the pants just pull the material from the front and it digs in). Great fit, just wish they had more pockets. The lower side zip pocket is actually behind the leg, so anything you put in there will dig into the back of your thigh or knee. This material also gets super hot in the sun. I can't wear them in Texas in the spring and summer even though they're lightweight. Lighter colors are appreciated - but keep us big girls that don't have perfectly smooth legs and butts in mind.
Beautifully made, flattering, and exorbitantly priced trousers. They're almost perfect, but ... the side zipper on the right leg stashes your items on the back of the thigh. Don't know about you but that doesn't work for me. And there are no pockets in the back. I wanted these for hiking. They're not going to do it for me. REI made 4 additional charges on my credit card that cancelled each other out. When I called to inquire, I was not treated with respect. Subpar customer service. I'm disappointed, REI
I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of backpacking/hiking pants and these are it! I’ve worn these while climbing and sliding over boulders on my butt and I wore them for several days in a row while backpacking. They still look brand new. I’m 5’9” with long legs and they’re the perfect length. They do stretch out a little after a while, but not enough for them to be baggy on me. The one and only thing I would love to change, is the thigh pocket that’s backwards. I’d love a vertical pocket on the thigh that’s big enough to fit a large phone.
These are nice hiking pants. While Fjallraven provides the short, regular and tall lengths, REI unfortunately only stocks the regular length.
I love these pants so very much. I'm 5'3" and 145 lbs (athletic build) and the size 8 worked out well. The fit is amazing and they are comfortable. They also repel water and are a good all-season pant. The ankle cinch is a nice feature and they also have a few zippers.
It has taken me years to find another pair of outdoor pants that work for me (to replace the MEC 'discontinued' Sandbagger pants I loved). Finally, I have found a pair (well actually four pairs given that I bought them in every colour available to me - even though I do not actually like some of the colours!!). The fit is perfect IF you are looking for slim straight legs (not tight, not wide/baggy), a true high waist (good bye irritating mid-waist), and a degree of stretch during daily wear that rebounds or recovers when you wash them). These pants dry very rapidly when I am kayaking, and are comfortable for biking and hiking. Truthfully, I was sort of irritated by the brown curled up Artic Fox decal on the right hip side. I pondered trying to remove it but decided against it - pants are too expensive to mess with. Then my daughter (40's) commented on my new pants (as in "well done, Mom") because she has some Fjallraven clothing. Well, I guess I am somewhat of a cool Mom/Nana. Who knew.
Knocked down one star because I am over the high wasted everything. I would love these if they were mid rise, like pants should be. Other than that, this is exactly as pictured. Size 36 works out to match up to medium, size 6-8 which is my typical size. Washed up well, hung to dry to ensure fit. Fjallraven makes consistently high quality products, these trousers did not disappoint.
