If you have a bunion this shoe may need the lowest sewn-in eyelet removed on the interior (exacto knife) AND a modified lacing pattern (photos). Otherwise, I like these shoes.
This is my second time purchasing the Audi zero SL. My first pair did very well for me for a daily trainer and was consistently a part of my track season shoe rotation. The shoe is not only light for a daily trainer. It has the adequate support to sustain anywhere from 300 to 400 miles on the shoe. I find it also fits my foot and foot shape very snug not so snug to wear, my foot feels suffocated, but snug enough to keep my foot lock down during runs. Heel slippage is something that most runners deal with and I have not had any heel slippage with the shoe. I don’t know what lies ahead for the next version but please keep these positive features in the shoe, and I will be purchasing more pairs of them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Im a 47 yr old male, 5’9”, 170lbs. I run 15-25 miles a week. The midsole isn’t so soft that it feels mushy. It’s firm but responsive and not protecting. I like the upper, it’s nothing special but is secure once I changed the laces. The laces are not good. NOT GOOD. Overall it’s a good daily trainer.
I like the feel of the shoe and the midsole. It's a nice balance between firmness and cushion and works well for being a work horse daily trainer. I have two problems with it: 1. The sizing is different than all Adidas shoes (they generally run long these run short). 2. More importantly the rubber on the inner left heel started peeling off the midsole after less than 50 miles. The rubber itself will last forever, it's the same design as the Boston. But the shoe won't last if the rubber peels off because not enough glue was applied. That's pretty horrendous quality control and I'm pretty disappointed with my shoes due to that and don't recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these sneakers! They have an extremely comfortable insole that avoids the sandpaper feel that seems to becoming prevalent with Adidas sneakers. It is also removable, not glued in, which I cannot say for some of my other recent purchases. The cuff is nicely padded and really holds your foot in place snugly. "old Adidas sizing" I'm not exactly sure when it happened, but all of a sudden, the 11.5 that I have worn for most of my life, were too big and I have been size hunting ever since. Bought an 11 and they were too small, so I'm back to my 11.5. The other pair of shoes I got in this order fit correctly in 11, so I have no idea.
Took them for 11 miles right out of the box and they did great. The lightstrike foam was firm but responsive. You can feel the touch of lightstrike pro in the forefoot. Upper was comfortable and there was plenty of room in the toe box. Grip is great despite not being continental rubber. Think this shoe could also handle fartleks, tempos, and marathon pace but would likely choose Boston for those. The top of the tongue could have been a little shorter; not sure why it comes up so high. This is a great daily trainer and one of the best by any brand!
The orange colorway pops and they look fantastic out of the box. Fit was true to size. They are light and breathable in hot weather with good grip. They felt as though they needed to be broken in because the are quite stiff. Having put over 200 km on these, I have found them to be quite durable with normal wear on the toe off part of the sole. But I’ve also found them to be too firm and unforgiving during my runs. The Lightstrike foam doesn’t offer much energy return and the Pro pod is a non-player as I’m guessing it’s a really small chunk of foam. I have also found that they are causing Achilles pain which only started when I got these. While I will admit that I love the style and had high hopes for the ride, they just don’t float my boat.
For the price, it's a fair shoe and it's best characteristic is the versatility and comfort. It's honestly not as firm as people say it is. Plush isn't the word, but definitely a tad softer than other lightstrike products. However, some things to improve on. Sizing is very irritating, 1/2 size up people. Shallow toe box and plush heel counter takes up space. Upper is supportive and comfortable. As for the ride, it's a decent trainer that you can go in cruise control at an easy pace or speed it up a bit but not by a whole lot. In short, it's not that bad of a shoe at all, quite good, and is a decent reimagining of the SL, though there are definitely other options.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoe looks good, but you should know the sizing is a little tighter compared to other adidas running shoes (I still fit in my 9.5). I've run about 20 miles and enjoy the firm but stacked ride, and I can even feel the lightstrike pro "puck". I think this shoe is for daily miles, which is why it has so much lightstrike foam and thick material on the upper (compared to other adios shoes). This would be my rain or shine shoe, but unfortunately it lacks the awesome continental outsole. Right now there's icy conditions outside, and I'd love to reach for these shoes but I find myself grabbing my adios 6's instead.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing shoes. I’ve run over 50 miles on them; and I have to say they’ve become my favorite daily trainer. I have to pairs. The are great for slow recovery runs and are versatile enough to do some speed work. I’ve done a couple of long slow runs, and they work good. But not enough cushioning for the long runs. But that’s not an issue as that’s not what they are intended. The Boston 12 would seem better for those. Overall, love this shoe and I will keep it in my daily rotation. They ran true to size, although I did return on of the colorways because it felt tighter at the forefoot. I think it was just an issue with that colorway. I exchanged them and the new one was wider but not as wide as a different colorway. So try them to see if they fit! I def recommend them. And they are great regardless of your level.
