Solid base layer / shirt for activities
This is light weight baselayer. Ideal for fall or winter layering. The fabric is light and breathable. The fabric is not overly stretchy. As opposed to other base layers that I have tried, the fit of the base layer is looser (not a skin tight fit) and fits slightly loose to the figure. In wearing the product, running and hiking in the fall and winter, it performed well as a thin long sleeve and underneath heavier layers. Provided warmth while still being breathable, and without chafing concerns. One nice touch were the small thumb loops on each sleeve, to keep the shirt in place and give some hand coverage. Overall a solid baselayer that was unique in the more relaxed fit
Great cut, great material
This is my first Arc'teryx product and I am a huge fan! I love the cut and the fit- it's not as skin tight as some of my other active/outdoors tops; instead, it is fitted in a way that I feel like I still have some room to breathe and it falls flatteringly, but when I wear it to practice yoga it stays put when I'm in an inversion. That being said, I am usually a size S/M, and the M in this top is a little small for me (specifically across the shoulders). It's not enough for me to exchange or to change my feelings about the top, but if you are between two sizes definitely go with the bigger one! The material is super lightweight but still warm enough under a light jacket for fall days. When I wore the shirt climbing, the material didn't snag or pull, was breathable and moved with me, despite not being stretchy. I sweat a lot, and it was hardly visible because of the barely noticeable heathering of different shades of lavender in the color of the material. I feel like the color is much prettier in person than the stock picture shows! Instead of the typical built in thumb hole, this shirt has a little thumb loop built in, easy to use or not use (see attached pictures). The only downside I've found to this is that when I pull the sleeves up 3/4, the actual sleeve doesn't sit flush against my arm because the fabric of the thumb loop is a little shorter (again, see pictures). Not that it matters to the functionality or overall look of the top though- I still love it! Considering ordering in more colors.
Lightweight multifunction workout shirt
Used this shirt for so many athletic uses with great results. It is extremely lightweight and perfect for yoga, hiking, and cycling. It has minimal areas of chaffing from the seams in the armpits or sides when using a hiking pack. Very good for moisture wicking from sweat. Also the material is extremely quick dry and cooling. It has just enough stretch for yoga or an outdoor cycle
Great Shirt from a Dependable Company
I like this shirt a lot. I wanted a lightweight layer that was warm enough for early morning running, and this is the one. It fits well and is the perfect weight for what I need. No negatives to report, just a good, dependable layer you can count on. Worth adding to your wardrobe.
Summer activity top
I love wearing long sleeves for most activities. This top has been my go to for hiking, running and biking all Summer. It keeps me protected from the sun, there is no rubbing if I am wearing a pack or vest and its breathable so I don't feel like the sleeves are overkill on the hot days. The new style is more fitted so I went with a large ( black and white) and then tried an xlarge in orange to see if I like the bagger fit. Although it was a looser fit the xl had a lot longer arms.
Perfect shirt for high intensity adventures
This is a great lightweight shirt that will definitely be my go-to when taking part in high intensity outdoor activities. The storm glow heather is a nice neutral shade that pairs well with black, gray, or even blues and greens while providing a subtle pop of color. The fabric is light, breathable and quickly wicks moisture keeping me warm and dry. I’ve worn this as a base layer while trail running and hiking in the fall, but I'll definitely be wearing it alone at warmer times of the year, taking advantage of the fabric’s sun protective features. I was a little unsure of what size to order. I’m a pretty solid medium, but I have muscular shoulders and arms, so I’m always worried about tops being too tight in that area. The medium was a perfect fit and the fabric provides just enough stretch that it did not feel tight anywhere. There are also thumb loops at the end of the sleeves, but they’re very small, so they don’t get in the way if you’re not using them. Overall, I’m very happy with this shirt.
Great shirt for running and hiking
Love this shirt. The fabric is soft and super light. I like the color (somewhere between white and silver grey), but because of it is slightly translucent, so pay attention to what you wear underneath. It fits really well, although the upper sleeves are a teensy tad tight (but that's typical for me as I seem to have strong arms; there are garments where I have to go up a size to get the sleeves on). I'm 5'3" and usually wear a Small (unless I can't squeeze my arms in) and the S fits well. I like that it is long and not tight at the hem, so no risk of it riding up even when running. I use this both for running in the morning (when even in summer it can be a bit cool for short sleeves; I am slow) and for hiking as UV protection. It's warm enough on cool mornings when running but I can also wear it fine hiking on warm, sunny days without overheating.
Lightweight Comfortable LS Shirt
I love the color of the shirt. I think it’s eye catching and compliments a lot of my darker shorts/pants. It’s translucent so beware of wearing dark undergarments. I’m 5’4” and 130 lbs and I normally wear a small but got a medium. I like the medium size because the shirt material doesn’t have a lot of give to it. It’s comfortable to wear and feels soft. I wore it hiking multiple times and it kept me warm and shielded from the wind on the ridge and summit. I primarily will use this shirt to hike, backpack, run (trail and road) and water sports. I love the performance of the shirt. It didn’t hinder me climbing on or under rocks/boulders or hiking. I absolutely love that it doesn’t wrinkle instead my backpack. I remove it when I warm up and throw it in my pack then pull it out later when it’s cooler or windy and it looks freshly pressed. I’m truly impressed. I love the thumb holder loops to keep the short sleeves in place. I love the length and how comfortable it is. I don’t like how open the sleeves are at my hands. I’m used to a tighter fit. It definitely makes it easier to slide wool glove liners on when it’s a chilly on the ridge or summit. Overall, I love this shirt and it’ll definitely have a place in my must haves in my day pack and backpack for my outdoor adventures.
Great technical top for backpacking!
I used this as part of my layering system for backpacking the Wonderland Trail around Mt Rainier. It was light enough to breathe well and dried quickly when I got sweaty. Since we had a few mornings in the 30-40 degree temps I was able to easily layer an Arc'teryx proton jacket over the top for extra warmth. I rinsed it in the river one day to give it a little refresh and it dried in about 30 minutes in the sun! Really happy with this purchase!
Great fall running top
Pros: the fabric is great a wicking moisture, it’s the perfect weight for runs on chilly fall days and the thumb loop is a bonus. The anti-oder properties are decent-didn’t notice any stink after short runs, did notice some after longer runs but it does wash out completely. For sizing I would say it runs slightly small so size up if you prefer a looser fit, the fabric does not have a lot of stretch to it. For reference I am 5’1”, 100lbs, I usually wear an XS or small in tops, ordered a small and am happy with the fit. The only slight complaint I have is there is a crease on both shoulders (see picture) like it’s been ironed that has not gone away despite multiple washing and dryings, which makes my shoulders look slightly pointy but is not as noticeable when wearing a running vest. I don’t know if this has been an issue for others.
