I recommend paying close attention to the heel lift while fitting and making a purchase. Have your boot specialist make adjustments with inserting a wedge under the removable insole to really lock your heel in place. Be proactive your first time out and wear some heel protection like mole skin, or Compeed adhesive gel pads to adjust for hot spots while touring and gliding. Unfortunately I could not tighten the ankle laces. or velcro strap enough to keep my foot completely in place as purchased from the store. I still give this boot a 4 star because they are light-weight and sturdy enough for BC turns, I'm still working on fine turning the fit.
I really like the cushion on these boots. I feel they run a little big, and I added an insole to eliminate some heel play that was causing me a blister. And retrospect I could’ve gotten the size down, It was just the difference of trying on in the store versus actually out on the trail. Super easy to lace up and warm! I wish this pair of boots had one extra grommet around the heel to keep my heel tightly in place.
These are my second pair of cross-country boots. Compared to my first pair (Salomon) which were the correct shoe size but just too roomy. I’ve enjoyed 2 seasons of non-park hilly treks. I did winter insoles for additional cushion. That said I use the thinner style Smartwool or DarnTough socks rather than ski socks but will have happy toes the entire time. The construction provides comfortable support for my ankles without being heavy.
They were ok on a short trip, but my heel was sliding up too much. Tried thicker insoles and socks on the next trip, but got blisters. Inside the heel of the boot is a ridge under the lining which caused the blisters. I also tried the next smaller size, which was too tight. Very disappointing fit. I'll be returning these.
Fits well but product was defective on receipt. ankle strap is separated into two pieces.
I consistently wear a 41 in all different kinds of shoes. Ordered 41 and my toe touches the end. It’s not curled, but is touching. Recommend sizing up. Returning- haven’t used them. Not sure how many stars to give- going to try a larger size.
