Awesome on/off piste pack

Great pack for skiing in and out of bounds. The 25L feels very roomy with the pocket setup. Fits my transfer LT shovel perfectly with plenty of room for other tools (beacon, probe, food, water, extra layers, etc). The harness system is extremely comfortable as expected from any BD pack. Pockets are well designed to separate west gear and dry gear.

BD Nailed this Pack

The Dawn Patrol pack is near perfection for day tours and side country adventures. Build is solid, size is just right and features are absolutely fantastic. Avalanche pouch is well organized and easy to access. Skins fit in the hip pockets far doing hot laps and the back pad access to spare gear works really well. Integrated hydration system with insulation keeps drinks at the ready all day. Ski and board carriage options are easy to use and the integrated helmet holder is clutch. My only gripe is that I wish the avalanche pocket zipper was orange/hi vis. Highly recommended!

Just enough pack for most ski tours

When it was time to retire my old ski pack I was hoping to find a well sized quick laps ski pack and the Dawn Patrol 25 is the ticket. Sized generous enough for more than just skins and a few snacks, the 25 is able to keep an extra layer, skins, water, food and all the avie essentials with a little more space if I wanted to bring along some extras or ditch a layer on the up-track. Fits well and trim without the sloppy wide feeling on the downhill, this pack has me stoked and smiling ear to ear. For long full day tours it could be a little small (get the 32L in that case) but for my dawn patrol laps or even some side-country tours, this is the ticket!

Dawn Patrol 25

Going to use this for full time ski patrol for 23-24' season. The pack I've been using is a 35+ liter pack and too bulky. I have used this pack for some Alpine hiking a few times and I love it. It fits nice and snug and feels well balanced. I especially like the locations of the zippered stash pockets. It will easily carry self lift evacuation gear, medical equipment and shovel/ probe which is separated from main compartment. Plus it doesn't have a bunch of straps sticking out all over the place. The waist buckle is easy to connect and won't break if accidentally stepped on. Another great product from BD!

Great Touring Pack

This pack stores everything you need for a full day in the backcountry. I recently completed an avalanche rescue course with this pack and felt exceptionally prepared with the accessibility of rescue tools in the zippered pouch. The waist strap works excellent - I was dubious of the latch mechanism being the metal slide-through rather than a big chunky click buckle - but after hauling through some "dense foliage" as my buddy put it, I realized the durability of the metal would last a lifetime and gives me confidence in having the pack secure to my body for years to come. Love the helmet holder and goggle pocket for transitions. I keep some glove liners in the goggle pouch for descents as well!

The Best!

Perfect size for day touring. Excellent features. Great helmet pocket. Comfortable fit. Pockets on the shoulder strap & waist belt are so well thought out. Fit shovel, probe, multiple layers, goggles, snacks- everything needed for a full day of touring.

Lightweight snug pack

This pack look, feels, and preforms like a quality pack. Adjustable straps makes it an easy strap on anything pack and didn’t like the main pocket zip at first but now really like it! :)

Great pack with tons of pockets and compartments for storage

I was on my Eurotrip and in the middle of the Dolomites when the zipper on my backpack failed me and irreparable. It was just a few days before Christmas and I had to find one in time for my winter hike. Lucky enough to find a store in Bolzano that carried BD amongst the many other popular brands. The amber Dawn Patrol 25l caught my eye and was recommended to me. I took this and guess what, it had great compartmentalization, was able to store my supplies, water, bottle, extra fleece, mirrorless cam, first aid and drone while not feeling burdened for an entire day hiking in the snow. I guess the shoulder straps + waist belt worked well. Tons of ways to place your gear especially if you don't pack an avalanche kit. Great buy!

Perfect for splitboarders

What I loved from that pack is that you can actually clip the skis from your splitboard (not touring skis, but the skis from your snowboard!) on the side. I've tried many touring bags and the space on the side are always too narrow for large skis from a splitboard. I did a touring trip in Japan for 10 days and it was just perfect! The only inconvenient aspect of the back is that the sides are made from a very very thin material which makes it not durable in harsh condition. One side of the bag had a big cut because of a ski and I had to return it.

A pocket for everyone

Love the way the pickets are designed for every little thing you want on a dawn trip. From probe and Shovel storage to the helmet pocket that switches for when you need to carry skiis. I like the no slip design on adjusting the buckle, it seems to save time when tightening. I like the way the octet touching your back is padded so you don't have to worry about items in there poking you weird so you can cut ounces. I never really noticed the weight even though I packed it to the brim for snow climbing.great pack!
