Worth the money for the comfort.
Works great on my hard tail. Definitely reduces impact while commuting and has a few adjustments on dampening. Easy to switch out different dampeners for a softer or stiffer setting pending on body weight, or if carrying a back pack or other gear while you travel. Also very quiet, no sound when being used.
seat won’t stay tight
We have had this post on our tandem for over a year and my stoker likes the way it rides. The deal breaker is the saddle mounting system. It has a conical washer on both sides of the seat rails that pinch into the post to mount the saddle. After about 100 miles or so it starts to come loose and the seat moves. Bad system
Smooths out the small bumps.
Good suspension seatpost. It takes the harshness out of the bumps. Not much travel, but enough, especially with an insert that's on the softer side for my weight. I found the harder insert didn't work as well for me.
Thudbuster is a TOTAL BUST!!!!!
This post is very expensive but most importantly is a really flawed product. As other reviewers noted, it comes loose regularly. The width of the shock system is wider than the post, so it is very likely your inner thigh will rub against this hardware. A real disappointment and total waste of money. REI should stop carrying this product. What a hassle to remove and return to REI. O well.
Not for me
Added to much height to my saddle also didn't notice a smoother ride and returned after 2 weeks
