Tested these socks for the first time on a multi-day trip through Olympic NP and they performed really well. Comfortable for long hikes, stayed in place, and managed moisture. No blisters or bunching, and they dried quicker than I expected after a few shallow stream crossings. Solid choice for backpacking or day hikes. Definitely going in the pack on future trips. Would love to see more Smartwool crew length options (hiking, running, cycling, and color varieties) carried at REI.
Elastic Vice
Bought these in the store. Have used SmartWool for years, but lately the elastic is out of hand. These grip above the ankle so tightly they are painful. Wish I could find some of the old fashioned ones. Otherwise a great sock.
Great look and feel for reasonable price
I really like Smartwool socks, especially this model. The look is classic but also stylish. The feel is soft and padding is extra supportive in all the right places on my foot. I would have given this five stars if the socks were more reasonably priced.

I bought these socks as a birthday gift for my brother last Spring, and he loves them! He still raves about them a year later.
My chosen sock brand for a reason
I specifically choose Smartwool as my go to brand for socks. There is a noticable difference between this brand and others. This a sock brand that I've chosen when going on multi-day 75 mile hikes, and to wear while on the sidelines at my kids soccer games. There are certain items you should never skimp on, Socks, Gloves, Shoes, Baselayers, and Outer Layers. Although you may not know me, that's okay. Trust me, great equipment will never ruin a great outdoor experience, but poor equipment can and will.
Go-to outdoor socks
Smartwool socks are my go-to socks for outdoor activities. Warm and won't get soggy in wet weather. Easy on the feet in any weather.

Exceptional product as always! I live in Smartwool socks. Updating my sock supply and these are great! I wear these for work on the fire department. Amazing socks!
Great socks, warm but pricey.
I bought a pair of these looking for a thinner wool sock than what I normally wear for hunting. Cold feet are an issue this time of year. All in all, I was very impressed with these socks. Very comfortable and cold feet weren't an issue. My only complaint - these are just to expensive to buy more than one pair.
These actually DO have some cushioning.
I ordered these "everyday" Smartwool socks because my husband did not want cushioning. There was no mention of cushioning in the product description. Only 3 stars because of this. If you want light cushioning, these are nice socks.
