Squad mags are my new favorite goggle! I especially love the way they fit with the Smith Code Helmet. Changing lenses is a breeze, and/or simply removing your lenses while waiting for first chair or hiking can reduce any chances of fogging up. These are a great value because included with the frame you receive 2 lenses. I no longer have to fuss or fidget with my goggles or helmet. They are light weight, yet durable. It’s a real blessing, Thank you Smith!
Goggle lens and frame are great! Plastic connectors on the strap are poorly designed and need improvement. The plastic clip broke under light pressure adjusting the length of the strap in the first month of use.
Mag craz is taking off and there is no denying it. Get these while your pocket book can handle it cuz they are only getting more expensive. Pretty ridiculous pricing. On that point, you'd think you could actually pair the strap/frame with the lenses you want yet unfortunately you're constrained by Smith's limited matching program. Buck up for extra lenses I guess is the game!? Anyway, great fit and crystal clear clarity while switching bet my foggy Schweitzer days and those rare blue bird days. Best warranty out there!
I like a lot of things about these goggles. The lens changes are easy, they look good, the quality of the optics is great. There are two trade offs that I noticed coming from the regular squads. The goggles themselves and the lenses are bigger (thicker mostly) to accommodate the mag system, so if you're sensitive about packability and weight, the regular squads might be better. The second thing is that these seem to get significantly more airflow than my squads, on cold days it is more than I want and I feel the air hitting my eye. On warm days that's a benefit though. So, overall great goggles, with easy lens changes, but those are the two things I wished I knew before buying them.
Bought these to replace my old Oakley flight deck goggles. They look really cool, and changing lenses takes 10 seconds. The downsides are they fog easily in damp conditions, and the field of view is much less than the Flight Deck. On a snowy Sierra day, they are unusable since they will fog within 20 minutes, even when I’m using my Smith Valence helmet. On snowy days I have to wear yellow-tinted safety glasses instead of these goggles - really cool, I know, but being able to see the run I’m on is rather important. Going to look for a better goggle that can handle damp Sierra snow.
Classy AF. Epic pink color! Comfortable. Light weight. User friendly. Totally in love! Won’t lie— immediately purchased after seeing the ad for this helmet/goggle combo! NOT disappointed. Obviously;) light enough for side country/shorter backcountry jaunts! Digging all the latest MAG tech!
The darker lens fogs up quickly. I’ve worn these goggles twice, and I’m not totally sold. Not sure if it’s a faulty lens, but I have a hard time even if I put my goggles up for just a second. I like the look and style, but not being able to see puts a real damper on things.
Never thought poorly of my IOs but these are a major upgrade. The peripheral clarity is great. Wide lens seems to reduce the usual tight spots on my cheek bones and forehead. Haven’t had to use my low light lens but tested the swap and it’s simple and quick.
These goggles are so badass the highlight lens blinds my enemies with the force of a thousand suns and the lowlights blast through fog and bad visibility conditions like Danaerys Targareyans fire breathing dragons. 14/10. Way better than Oakleys.
So stoked about the Squad Mags! Lenses (2) are super sharp clarity, fit is perfect, snug and comfortable, and the North Face colab colorway is pure steez! Solid 5/5, do not hesitate to buy! Mag lenses are secure and super easy to switch in/out.
