not a reliable shoe.
god forbid you ever get these wet inside. they stink terribly. after having them for 2 months, they're already falling apart with regular use. i don't recommend these. the pull tab's already broken.
Absolute garbage quality materials
I am just so utterly disappointed in this product that I am still compelled to write to you. These boots are effective, in regards to comfort, waterproofing, and traction, but I was just so appalled today when they basically self destructed while simply out for a short walk. Look at the tread to see how gently these have been used. They have been used for a maximum of 20-30 times. To me, it is unconscionable to produce footwear made of materials that are unable to hold up better than this. I’ve never seen rubber fall apart like this. It raises huge concerns about the quality of all North Face products.
Good tweener but not a winter boot in Vermont
After almost two years of use this boot has proven to be waterproof and warm, I would buy it again. Haven't had any cracking or breakdown as others have reported. This boot is perfect for cool sloppy days in spring and fall, but isn't warm enough to wear on a frigid day with new snow, even if working up a sweat snowshoeing or hiking on hilly uneven terrain. Most of all the soles aren't well enough insulated. I bought additional insulating footbed inserts that help, but even with the inserts and the thickest socks that will fit inside the boot the bottom of my feet eventually feel the cold.
Well designed boots for snowshoe hikes
I bought these boots for snowshoe hikes. It was well designed for that purpose and worked really well. It kept my feet warm and dry. It does fit tightly. I usually wear size 8.5 and I had to go all the way to size 10 to get the same fit with a pair of thick socks.
Amazing Boot! One recommendation.
This boot is amazing! It served its purpose amazingly and kept my feet protected. It has great ankle protection and the perfect combination of stiffness and comfort. The waterproof is real! It kept water out on several occasions and water seems to bounce off. The traction as well is amazing. I had mistakenly taken this boot hiking as it is quite heavy and insulated beyond the situation, the traction was one part that I was very greatful for. My ankles were warm but I often found my toes cold. Additionally, because of the stiffness, I cannot find myself wearing this boot for driving in an day-to-day enviornment. The best method I found for wearing the boot is wearing it when immediately needed to. During my camping trip, I would drive up in different footwear and when stopped, then I would put my boots on.
Good boot for the price
Fit is true to size and the boot is very comfortable and warm. Nice update from my old tired Sorrels.
Good boot for wet environment
I’ve only worn the boots twice, once around the house for a few hours , then a “field” test. The field was very wet with heavy dew, and recent rain. Feet were warm and dry, and no discomfort or sore spots. Seems like I could wear them all day. They do feel a bit heavy after a few hours however. The boot fits my need’s perfectly for the environment that I’m in now.
Excellent snow boot
Really warm, well fitting, snow boots. The level of insulation is perfect, so they stay warm and comfortable but allow ankle flexion without cutting off circulation. More comfortable than duck boots and higher vortex boots that I have from Eddie Bauer. They were on sale end of season at REI last year, and they are great in the cold snap in the midwest now.
Great boots for cold and wet months
I was looking for comfort, dryness, and durability for the winter and spring months, and found all three in this boot! Have worn them for 2 months now (almost every day in VT), and they're standing up nicely to the elements.
Warm toes in Chicago winter
Fashionable boots that I feel confident walking through half-frozen puddles in. I've always had cold toes, but I'm staying pretty warm in these. I look like I'm going to Alaska in a good way.
