I ordered the XL but

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered the XL but debated on the L. The arms are slightly long for me but it's a minor issue. Jacket keeps me warm even in 10 deg weather. On warmer days I'll remove the inner layer and just go base layer with the shell. I would prefer the buttons that connect the inner layer to the shell would be a little stronger as I'm constantly rebutting them at the end of the arms and the neck. Other than these minor things, the jacket is fantastic and I'm glad I got it. Very versatile and adaptable to all situations. It's my favorite jacket now. There are a ton of pockets to hold phones, keys, wallet and I barely feel that I have them in the jacket. Again a great jacket.

Good for the price

The shell is good. The lack of storm flap on the main zipper is cheap. The layering is good. The jacket is vey boxy and square, and would be great for someone shaped like a cardboard box. A waist cinch would probably help, but there isn't one. The pockets are well thought out, and the hood is big enough for a helmet, and can be rolled up and out of the way when not needed. All in all, I think this jacket is solid for the price point. There are better out there, but they are more expensive. I don't regret the purchase, but it certainly isn't as good as the HH gear that I still use that was purchased in 1992.

First time skiing, and in

First time skiing, and in single digit temps, in both the 3 in 1 Smarty jacket and pants. Superb set up. Maybe I would tweak the coat pockets a bit with a softer lining for the hands, but other than that, it’s 100% fantastic.

Great jacket

This jacket really worked for me. Very warm lots of pockets. It kept me dry the whole day. The armpit vents helped when it got warmer in the afternoon.

Warm, versatile and stylish

This jacket is a great option regardless of the price point. All three configurations work in every weather condition, and I've not needed to use anything more than the jacket and a light base layer from Colorado, to California, to North Carolina skiing. It fits correctly, and I even use the liner during the off season. I highly recommend this jacket as the only one you'll need! The only issue is that the thumb catch/keeper on the sleeve of the outer jacket detached within the first two days of riding. However, it was not enough of an issue to warrant sending back.

Great Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jacket is very good, has everything you want in a ski/snowboard , in this price range .Looks great, feels good, enough room for another layer underneath it. I did have to order one size larger than I would have to accomadate my shoulder width which made the sleeves a few inches longer then I would like but no where near a deal breaker. I used the size chart which worked perfectly except for the aftermentioned sleeves. I have not taken it on the slopes yet but I am confident this jacket will perform.

these guys can do no

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] these guys can do no wrong. Nearly all my clothes are 686 ahaha! the jacket doesn't disappoint at all. Sharp look, super warm. Love the flexibility of use in almost any weather. The size do seem to run a little big and sleeves do tend to run a little long so if you are like me and in-between sizes on the chart drop down a size and it's a perfect fit. I went from L to a M and could not be happier. But again I was at the bottom end of L on the chart and top end of a M..

Awesome Jacket, terrible fit

honestly one of the nicest jackets I've owned in 30 years. todays trend is to wear things a little baggy so I expected it a little but the sleeves reach almost to my finger tips. the arms are just too long. I also ordered the matching 3:1 pants. Same story about quality, thats great, but I could even get them buttoned up. those were way too small, Felt like they were size small not large. I had to send the pants back but I could deal with the oversized jacket

The jacket is super warm,

The jacket is super warm, but not overwhelming! It allows for a nice base layer without feeling constricted or needing multiple layers. I bought a size medium and it fits like a large which is perfect. The sleeves are longer and stay over my gloves without riding up to let snow in. The zip-in puffer jacket is an awesome bonus on its own. Classy looking and warm! I have had other jackets from 686 and I’m still happy with the quality. Highly recommended!

The Jacket is great, actually

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Jacket is great, actually so great I prefer to use it separately. The base layer is really warm. With -10°C the upper layer is good enought. The versatility of both components, and the fabric of both is excellent quality. Advice: since the style is loose, I suggest to double check the size in the table. It runs bigger than expected. Both jackets together are a little too heavy, but you can use them in different combinations.
