Solid Headphones
After two weeks I’m impressed. They are very comfortable. Stay on your head while running exercising, jumping etc. I have an XL noggin and they don’t press into your skull like others can. Sound is good but don’t expect over the ear studio sound. Battery life is good,7-8 hours as claimed.

Too Big
I had an older pair of Trekz Titanium Aftershokz in the Mini size that I needed to replace. Since REI doesn't carry the mini, I tried these in the regular size. The regular size does NOT work for people with small heads, especially if you have long hair! They're not comfortable and the extra weight sticking out the back makes the whole set tilt backwards constantly. My ponytail is also constantly hitting the band and knocking them out of place. REI has chosen not to carry the smaller size anymore, but these are unusable for a huge part of the population. REI really needs to be size-inclusive with this product.

SHOKZ DONT LAST LONG

THEY DO NOT LAST LONG.... I am on my fifth pair in three years. As they are designed for runners and outdoors people, they should be designed for an active life-style. However between sending electifcal shokz to my ears (return no 1) breaking during a run (3) and now not charging (return 2 & 4), one would think they would have solved the QC issues. The open-ear is nice, but the silicon sheeth slides and eventually I think rain, or sweat just cause increased entropy. The warranty is for 2 years from purchase, and not two years of use. so like REI warranty, the shokz don't really cover the wear and tear of users.

Exceeded expectations

Bought these because I wanted to listen to music while riding my bike and wanted to hear lap updates at the same time but I didn't want something in my ear to block passing traffic noise or warnings from other folks that might be passing. My concern was that I am getting a little hard of hearing and I wasn't sure how well the bone conduction technology would work. Turns out it works quite well. Took a 35 mile ride today over a couple of hours and could easily hear everything. Another concern was comfort wearing them for that length of time with sunglasses and a bike helmet. Hardly knew they were there.

Convenience at a cost

I really like the convenience of these headphones. Walking dogs, going on hikes, etc. I can still keep an ear out for noises that I need to be aware of. HOWEVER, I have had these for about 2 months, and use them daily. I am noticing that they fall in and out of connection even when my phone is right next to me. I can walk to the other room and they will work the same. They are not consistent in keeping connection. For the price, they should have better connectivity. The drop will last up to 2 seconds, which is just not my preference. It could be faulty wire inside, but at that point, they need to be made with better material to protect those wires or charge less.

I'm Shokzed!

I picked up my first pair of these at the REI garage sale to give em a try. I have been so pleased that I now have five pairs and use them nearly every. I like using them for out door activities because I can still hear whats going on around me.

Measure to see if the small is a better fit.

Look at the measurement guide to see if the small size is right for you. I thought I had a big head, but the smalls may have been a better fit. Either way, I UTTERLY LOVE THESE HEADPHONES, and the slightly larger band doesn't actually cause problems. Here's the sizing guide: https://cdn.shopifycdn.net/s/files/1/0074/1890/4612/files/Find_your_size_EN.pdf?v=1650011092

Stay aware of your surroundings

I wish it were easier to switch between devices without having to turn off and pair or turn off Bluetooth on the device. Very comfortable and long lasting battery. I highly recommended them to another runner the other day when I came across a rattlesnake. Great to hear things out in the wild.

Great sound, but poor activation button

This is my 2nd air SHOKZ. I lost my 1st pair. I gave 4 stars because the pause/play doesn’t protrude out sufficiently to allow quick locating to pause or answer a phone call. The surface of the button could also use a rough surface so easier to locate. I do like the magnetic connection for charging, but having only one charge cord can be problematic if left at hotel or hom when traveling. The photos show easy-to-locate button on my spouse’s Air SHOKZ original design and poor design of my new pair.

This is my second pair of Open Run headphones

This is my second pair of Open Run headphones, the first pair lasted about 5 years before finally giving out after hard, almost daily use. I have loved them for the ability to be able to hear surrounding sounds while riding, hiking, or even while in the office and don't hesitate to recommend them to everyone that is active in areas that require the ability to hear outside sounds. Bass is a bit lacking, but they are excellent for listening to podcasts or talk radio.
