3 returned for leaking in same place
First gray jug we purchased leaked at seam/ groove where handle attaches- returned to rei for a new one, leak-free and great- so purchased another in black…. Have had to return 2 so far for leaking in same place! Most recent also leaks at vented lid side (visible mark on threads). Dometic QC needs review. Recommend immediately checking for leaks if you purchase! We like the one that doesn’t leak and would like to add another to our set up but getting frustrated with the leak issue.
Cap is weak, but 32oz nalgene lid fits!
This water system with the electric pump is fantastic! The cap is cheaper plastic than the rest of the jug and is prone to breaking. A pro tip for you all is that a 32oz nalgene bottle lid fits perfectly on the jug and is much. more durable.
2 Jugs One issue(Cap is defective)
Bought my first one months ago but then noticed the cap had broken. Leading to a very wet trunk of gear. I tried contacting the company but it took over a week for a response. They were willing to replace the cap but I had already replaced it because REI's awesome return policy. I had my new one for less than 2 weeks and was very careful to be gentle on the cap and it broke again. Wishing it was easier to get a replacement cap. Will be getting a different brand of jug. All the extra features are cool but tired of finding water everywhere!
Durable and leak free(use rubber adapter included)
Great size and and pretty durable. Been using it for a couple years with hard use. I have a high speed suspension setup on my 4runner. Love the tie down points and can handle laying down if needed. Leak free! Been curious on how so many people are breaking theirs and having leaking issues. Wonder if they’re Overtightening the lid causing it to break. You have to use the rubber adapter on the smaller opening to act as a seal and it won’t leak. Trust me, I off road at cruising speeds of 50mph and hit max speeds at about 85mph.
Cap Broke Easily! I cant recommend buying!
Cap broke, I've own the Dometic GO Water Jug for about for about 8 months. Used only a hand full of times. Went to use it today and it leaked everywhere. I discovered the cap was slit/cracked. The cap is poor quality for an expensive water jug. Hopefully I can find a replacement.
Nearly perfect
I’ve had lots of different water containers over my camping and off road career, based on that experience I think these are some of the best I’ve used. They’re easy to fill with large openings. Pouring from the cap is a breeze with the included rubber grommet that helps prevent splashing. It’s also easy to hold while pouring with the nice nylon handles and integrated hand hold in the base. I’d like to see the spout improved in future iterations, I think it could be more robust and it probably needs some kind of o-ring or gasket to keep it from leaking, but overall this is the best thing for carrying water on the market today in my opinion.
Weak cap.
Cap broke after first camping trip. Do not see replacements for sale. They definitely to to at least sell an updated cap. I’ve built my truck camper water supply around these, with their faucet and 2 Go jugs. Looks like I’ll need to figure out a new system.
Pretty Good
Bought this for traveling with our trailer. The unit is well designed and holds as much water as you really want to lift. The design is pretty simple. It does not leak and it does not seem to impart any “off” tastes to the water. I only wish it had some sort of measuring lines so you knew how much water remained in the unit. The walls of the jug are pretty thick so you can’t see how much remains. All components come apart for cleaning and I can get my hand in the container to clean it too. All in all, I like it, but it’s a bit pricey for what it does (even at the REI sale price).
Perfection!
We love this water jug. The plastic aired out in a day. (Unlike another water container we bought. It's been 2 years and the other one still smells strongly of plastic). The water in here doesn't pick up any plastic taste and if you get the Dometic GO faucet, you have a great water dispensing station which is easy to carry and pack in the car. You can easily pop off the faucet and store it separately. We've used it to wash hands, dishes, and fill our cups and tumblers. Not one complain from a potentially whiny bunch.
Cap broke - defect
Black cap that has the spigot integrated has separated at a seam, allowing water to leak out. I need water to stay in the jug.
