Great jacket ... until the inside flakes off
I've had two of these jackets. Both were great for trail running and biking in colder weather. Fit was great, sleeves long enough, which is hard for me to find because I'm 6'3" 175lbs. Most jackets are either too big in the body, or too short in the sleeves. Unfortunately, on both jackets the inner waterproofing liner starts to flake off after about a year, not even with serious use. Pretty disappointing for a jacket this expensive. Last time I wore it, my friends thought I had a terrible bout of dandruff because I had white flakes all over my neck and shoulders from this jacket peeling off onto me.

Defeats Rainy City
This jacket kept me dry and immune from cold during a solid 2 hours of rain walk along the Bridgewater Canal
Spend your money elsewhere.
Someone called this jacket a plastic bag and I fully agree—there is nothing "breathable" about this jacket. When running, the jacket traps all that sweat. Sure, you can unzip and rely on the front snap to vent, but sweat from your arms will just drip off the cuff; just nasty. This probably works best when you're going for a brief walk and nothing more. So yeah, not happy with the jacket. A refund would be awesome.
Used to be good
Older model Bonatti jackets I’ve had have been great. This one though, is not an improvement. The fit is bin bag like - gone is the slim fit of old. I can only presume they’re trying to appeal to the casual market rather than the running market. Curious. The hood is still good, though. An equally problematic issue is the breathability; there isn’t any. It’s proper boil in the bag - much like the fit it has bin bag like qualities. A shame - a jacket that used to be great has been made a great deal worse. So much for progress.
Running jacket
This jacket wasn’t for me. I initially thought it would be a good running jacket, but the material is far too rough—it feels more like a rain jacket. It might work for others, but it didn’t meet my needs. Returning it immediately.
Not breathable at all
Received this product as a gift ahead of a 100-mile race in summer. The jacket is a huge waste of money, do not buy! Its barely waterproof and not at all breathable. If the temperature is anything above 0 degrees Celsius you will be swimming in sweat by the time to you finish. For the price they charge and the reputation of Salomon I was extremely disappointed
Thank you for your opinion about Salomon product. We are really sorry to hear about your disappointment. This feedback will be reported to our product manager. Hopefully, we will be able to improve our product line or offer a product that will better suit your needs in the future.
Training for an ultra
My husband is training for a 200-mile ultra marathon and this jacket was recommended by his trainer. He loves the brim on the hood and fitted cap that will help keep the rain off his face. He also has to carry all his gear in his back pack for 4 days/nights, so the fact that this jacket folds up into the chest pouch helps him keep his load compact.
Proof of Performance
I bought this item about a month ago and so happy I did and had it with me while road biking around the Bay Area, as I got caught in a torrential rain. This jacket not only kept me bone dry, but performed excellent in keeping me warm in 30 mile per hour cross winds experienced while crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.
Not breathable
Waterproof, yes. Breathable, no. I don’t sweat an awful lot on my easy runs, but when wearing this jacket, even without full zip and hood, I come back and I’m wet from sweat, my top is stuck to me, it’s not very nice, it’s just not breathable at all unfortunately, I expected better

Well constructed and designed
This is a great jacket for rainy training days. Kept me dry and I appreciate the pockets that actually didnt leak, which is something I have had in the past with my old jacket. Stashing gloves and keeping them dry is a huge bonus on long runs in the rain and cold.
