Raceday came and FAILURE

Bought this earlier in the year. To start, it's good fit and looks great, however, I had the biggest race of my life this week and the first time is has really rained on me in a while and first chance to properly test the jacket. This is not waterproof at all. I had a 50 miler and spent much of it sore from being wet through from mile 5. Despite it saying it can be washed at 30⁰c, the logo and and reflective strips have pretty kuch vanished. I have a lot of great Salomon products and while this wont really put me off purchasing more apparel, I will stay away from the jackets. Shambles and overpriced in my honest and experienced opinion.

Waterproof but not very breathable...

Bought this several weeks ago and have used it on several occasions on long runs, which varied from drizzle to monsoon level of rain. On the whole, I think the jacket has managed to keep me dry, however, I have on several occasion built up so much moisture inside that when I let my arms drop straight, the sweat/water that has been collected in my elbows would pour right out on both arms. The hood and peek cap for me was a pour fit, it would drop over my forehead and cover my eyes, the only way to fix this was to wear a cap underneath. On the plus side, it is really lightweight and packs away nicely, but tend to stick to the skin as soon as some moisture builds up.

Great to a limit

I purchased a second after my small was quite snug so I figured I’d save it for warmer weather rain use and purchased a large to wear in constant rain while working as a postal worker. I noticed while wearing it yesterday during a constant, prolonged rain storm, that a lot of condensation builds up inside with prolonged use. Maybe add some zippers to the armpits or other ventilation in the future? Otherwise I love it.

Good but not great.

I was able to test out the jacket in a light rain recently. Although the jacket is very light weight, seemed to have good ventilation I found myself wet from more sweat than rain upon my arrival at home. I am a little disappointed as I was expecting that the jacket would have been more breathable. The fit was perfect, with a very snug hood that kept in place during my windy runs.

Noisy, uncomfortable sweat suit.

Have had the jacket and trousers for a little while now; running in wind, rain and low temperatures. These are the first Salomon waterproofs I've owned; I've had Salomon boots for some time and the boots are faultless. Fit - a bit on the billowy side. Jacket states male, but fastens on the female side. Hood is too loose, blows off when running or wind in the face. 5/10 Noise - constant swish, swish, swish. No worse then other jackets. 5/10 Waterproof - very, as far as I can tell. See below. 9/10 Breathable - NOPE! I run in a thin base layer and the waterproofs and I am dripping wer after every run, regardless of weather conditions and ambient temperature.. I've found more breathable bin-liners. These things are sweat-boxes. Seriously, you'll be better wearing two base layers; you won't get any wetter and you'll be a lot more comfortable. Better yet, buy a pac-a-mac. You can find better for a lot less money.

Only one thing missing

Love the jacket. Some brands have a carrying strap or elastic band that is helpful for clipping to a bag or slipping your arm through to carry but this one does not. Minor issue, I found a small enough clip to fit through the zipper pull. Still giving 5 stars because it matched description.

Only one thing missing

Excellent jacket! Some brands have an elastic band or strap that makes it easy carry or clip when it is folded up into the pocket. Not a huge deal. I found a clip small enough to fit through the zipper pull for attaching to my bag. Still giving 5 stars because it matches description.

It's alright

Bought it 2 months ago, model was wearing a medium and I wanted something a bit more baggy so I got a size up and it still barely fit. It's also not that durable and got a small rip within a month. That being said I wanted a waterproof shell and this thing is water tight!

Waterproof but fails in light, constant, rain…

Bought a small and it seemed great. Then I bought a larger size for working outside in the elements. Always take care and clean how Salomon recommends. Last week I had it on and after 30-40 mins in a light rain it failed. I got drenched. Then froze. Awesome.
