Everything I wanted
Worn for 6 months straight including in 20F, snowshoeing, etc and my feet were toasty! I did buy these a little too big as they stretch out with use but I still count these as an amazing investment. I wear these on short hikes, daily wear, and to the office and I appreciate that the black leather can be worn for multiple environments and taken care of to look new again. I pair with fox river socks and the combination leaves my feet toasty!
I wore these everyday during winter!
My first Blundstones! After reading previous reviews about sizing up a half size, I decided to go for a size 8 (I'm normally a 7.5). It took a bit to break in and the boots just looked huge and clunky on my feet at first. I also noticed that they pinched a little bit on the upper tongue against the lower part of my shins when I walked. After a few weeks of wearing them, this went away! As far as the sizing up, I normally wear a thick sock with these, which helps during the winter months here in the Northeast. With a standard sock, my feet are swimming in them. I will definitely be getting a second pair - although not the thermal ones so my feet don't feel too hot during the non-winter months :)
my 2nd pair
I bought the Chelsea 500 (low top) two years ago. I still wear them almost every day. Those took about 1.5 weeks to break in - to get used to the rubbing on my ankle. This pair (high tops), I’ve only felt the rubbing one day while wearing them this whole week. I wear US 6.5 and bought US 7 (UK 4). They feel true to size, where a 6.5 probably would have fit perfectly. If the leather loosens like my first pair, I will just wear thicker socks. The thermal is super comfortable - note that it is only a fuzzy insert sole. Not the entire lining. I know as I wear them, it will get easier to pull them on and off. Even now it’s not a huge deal, but understand why people write about the difficulty. One of my favorite brands. Highly recommend.
Warm and Comfy, Run VERY Small
I live in Upstate NY and my feet always get extremely cold in the winters. I was looking for a stylish everyday boot to keep me warm. These seemed great. The footbed was soft and warm. I consistently wear a size 9, I ordered a 9.5 in these to allow for a thicker sock and these were extremely small…. I could barely get my foot in with a super thin sock and there’s no way I could ever wear them. I returned these and sized up a full additional size, I’m waiting on them to come in and hoping they’re a better fit. I think the fluffy footbed takes up more space and maybe adds to it feeling so small.
My go to Boot
I LOVE these boots! I was on a contract in the PNW when I was introduced to Blundsone. I wore them almost exclusively last winter and on my trip to the UK this past summer. I did a contract in Salt Lake this winter and wanted to get a different color. I found the thermals in black and LOVE them! Mt feet run cold and I have reynauds, so warmth is super important. These did not rub or cause any blisters. I went skiing with these in my backpack and when I pulled them out, to my surprise they were not cold on my feet!! Thanks for making such a great boot!!!
Warm feet are happy feet
Warmth: This is my second pair of thermal Blundstones! I don't enjoy the cold and these keep me from losing body heat through the ground whenever I need to stand outdoors for a long time. Ankle: So I actually didn't realize I had even bought the high-top version until after wearing them multiple times... I kind of wish I had bought the normal height ones instead! These are very snug, maybe best for someone who likes a tight ankle boot look? Length/width: Ok this is where this shoe is confusing! What I was told is that Blundstone half sizes are a "wide" version of the whole sizes, they are not really longer. I also find that thermal Blundstones run loose compared to other Blundstones. I can wear a 7.5 in these (so in other words a 7 wide?), but need an 8 in the non-thermal Blundstones. I like to wear a 7.5 wide or 8 regular in Hokas, New Balance etc.
Toasty toes, cozy fit, all-weather protection
A year ago, I purchased a pair of the original boots and loved them so much, but my feet got a little cold come winter. On my feet and outdoors for hours, I thought a pair of thermal would be a good choice. They are now my favorite boots, period. From day one, they fit cozy and a little more snug than the originals. The materials add a pinch of weight but no more than a nice hiking boot. The lining keeps my feet warm but not hot and they have already been tested with all this recent rain and mud. Can't wait to take them to the snow. These Blundstones really are worth the hype.
super durable and comfy once broken in
Great boots! Need to be worn a few times to be broken in. They were supposed to be off black but are more of an ash green-grey.
cozy & cute
a huge upgrade to this boot with the sheep's wool footbed. super cozy and warm. sized up from a 7.5 to 8 for a little wider fit with socks. love the faded brown, it's a perfectly worn in vibe.
Size up
I was looking for a shoe that was going to keep my feet warm and be durable. These are my first blundstones and I'm thrilled about them also being thermal. They fit great but I most certainly sized up from a normal blundstone shoe. I'm a 9.5 and sized up to a 10 based on other reviews and a furry footbed. I'm happy!!!
