Perfect fit for a tall curvy person!

I am tall, athletic/muscular, AND curvy, so finding comfortable clothing for outdoor fun and workouts is usually a chore. I often have a hard time with fleeces in particular, because most brands don't carry tall sizes for women, and if they do, they usually cap out at an XL Tall so I can't size up if I want a looser fit for layering unless I buy men's clothes. To add to the mix, I had a baby a few months ago and my midsection is still not great looking, so the extra length is imperative for me right now. Enter the Cotopaxi Teca. I was looking for a looser fit for more layering options, so I ordered the 2X (the new plus size one, not the XXL) and it is absolutely PERFECT. (For reference, I normally order a XL, 1X or 2X in REI brand clothing, XL Tall from LL Bean and Athleta, and XXL from The North Face.) The length of the body AND the sleeves are actually long enough for my 5'10 frame, and it fits me properly like a tall size would. The cut is very flattering and surprisingly not baggy or boxy at all! It doesn't cling to anything I don't want it to, and it doesn't squish my (38DDD) bust. Even though it has a nice fit, there is still actually enough room to comfortably layer it with a heavy weight merino baselayer, a flannel, or a sweater if I want. Also, I love the cute striped design and color schemes these come in, and that the Teca has a hood. As far as warmth goes, I haven't had a chance to test it in all types of weather yet, but it feels like it's going to be perfect for those in-between fall/spring temperatures, or possibly layered over one of my long sleeve merino base layers for winter walks/hikes/runs. It am not expecting it to be quite as warm as my North Face Osito and Denali fleeces because it's not as thick, but the fit is so perfect and I still think it will be great for layering and spring/fall fun. If I had to find something to complain about, my only gripe is that it doesn't have zippered pockets. They would be nice, but it isn't a big deal to me.

Quality of material

I got the large size but it was too big so I have it exchanged at a local REI store. There was only one medium left, and the quality was okay. After just washing it once, the quality deteriorated. There was like small deep scratches on the fleece? I'm not sure if I just got a bad one? I really love the colors and the design, but it looks like it has been used a long time already. And I agree that lengthwise, it's fit for petite people. Otherwise, I love Cotopaxi still!

Omg! Love the colors 💚🧡💙

It was hard to tell what the main color was from the pic and the name didn’t say the color so i was so surprised and happy the jacket is Green! (With blue and orange accents) I am 130 lbs and 5-3” and the medium fit perfect (leaving room for layers, normally in a North Face I’d wear a small) except the sleeves are way too long (hence the 4 stars). I washed it and it shrank the sleeves a bit so it will work! Also, it is a mid-weight fleece, so the wind does blow through it, so not a winter coat.. which is fine I got it as a spring hiking jacket. Also, I love that it has a hood as that is the main reason I bought it!

Love it!

I actually bought this to wear in Ecuador while visiting the Cotopaxi national park. Yes, I’m cheesy like that. It was perfect. Light weight, yet warm. Ordered a medium to have a little extra room for layers. So glad I did! I’m 5’4, athletic build, 140 lbs. I love that the hood stays fit and doesn’t move as my head moves.

Fits nicely, not too short in the body.. flattering style. Bought XS, I’m 5’1” slim frame. Bought for ski trip, was very comfortable and warm.. love the colours (bright blue) and hood was a bonus.

Soooo Cute, Comfortable and Functional!

I am in love with this fleece! I love green and aqua/seafoam, so when I saw that Cotopaxi made a hoodie in those colors, I knew I wanted to try it. When it arrived, I was so pleased to see that the fit was absolutely PERFECT for my body shape! For reference, I am 5’10, 38DDD, and normally wear a size XLTall, 1X, or 2X (depending on brand and fit) and I ordered my Teca in a 2X for a little room to layer stuff underneath. The length of the body and sleeves are absolutely perfect for someone with my build, so I don’t have to have to tug at my fleece while I’m hiking or running or worry about it riding up (ugh). I had a baby last year and still have a bit of a stomach roll that I can’t get rid of, and even that isn’t a problem in this hoodie because the cut is so flattering and it is the perfect length. There’s enough room to feel cozy and comfortable, but it doesn’t look sloppy or baggy at all! So far I’ve worn it hiking, running, and for general use in fall with the high temps being in the 40sF and it has kept me perfectly warm without getting too hot. What could be better than a fleece that’s comfortable, flattering, and a cute design?! I highly recommend, especially if you are tall / plus sized / curvy. I absolutely love having something functional that I can wear for all my outdoor adventures without having to feel self conscious the whole time.

Warm and soft

Sammy says the box is exactly what he ordered, fast shipping, high quality, and comfortable while still having plenty of room to wallow. Luckily there was a fleece jacket inside for me the human. I also have the down jacket and the rain jacket. I run into my local REI to check the size and ended up with a large in all of them. I have broad shoulders at 5'8" and the medium fleece would have fit well, but the chest panel mushed by boobs so I went with the large. I like my clothes to have a snug clean look, all of my Cotopaxi outer wear fit like that, while I can still layer any of them together that I need to. Like their other stuff I own I am impressed with this fleece. The recycled material is thick and soft. So far it is warm! But I have only been in around 50 deg fahrenheit weather. I love that it has a hood, I have short hair and always want my head covered and warm, and I love that the hoods are designed so the neck comes up high and keeps the chin warm. As always high quality, and of course its great to be able to support an awesome company that does good. I do really like that the products come with a hand written note from the person that made it. Now all I need to know is how dorky I look walking down with street with my Cotopaxi jacket.....hat....bag.....food cooler....haha! Guess Im missing pants and maybe if they ever start making shoes....

Shedding fleece

I liked the style and especially the hood of this jacket. The colors are cheerful. It fit a bit large but the issue that made me return it was the fleece shed little fibers. I was wearing a black tshirt and was literally covered. I considered washing it to see if that would tighten up the fleece but worried I couldn’t return it and it’s too expensive to have such a glaring problem. I felt the fleece was not very soft and definitely not what I’m used to. I was sad to return it but the fleece quality was not ok.
