I wore these right out of the box for a 4 mile hike in snowshoes. They kept my feet warm and dry, were lightweight and comfortable with no break-in required. Used them today for walking the dog in snow/ice and subzero temps—again, warm and really comfortable with only a medium thick wool sock. These are perfect for someone with a wider forefoot and narrow heel. I wear a 10 shoe but got these in a very hard to find 10.5 to accommodate thick socks—they are fine with thin, med or thick socks.
Perfect fit for someone like me with a narrow heel and wider forefoot. Very comfortable right out of the box. I'd wear them all year long if I could!
Truly, a well made boot - keeps the heel in place and has great arch support. But the toe-box is super wide and no matter how I laced, I couldn't get it tight enough to feel secure walking, particularly on ice....back they went...but a great boot if it fits!
Great looking boots. Sized up a half size so I would have plenty of room for thicker wool socks. These are really tight across the top of my foot and seems to run small. Loosening the laces doesn't help at all. I'm going to wear them around inside today and see if it loosens up, but I think it is likely I will be returning them because I feel like it cuts off circulation in my foot and my feet would get cold due to that.
These boots are wonderful. Bought to wear on a winter trip to Norway. They are warm and dry, hiked in the snow and feet were dry.
I really wanted to like these boots for the insulation, ankle height and waterproof qualities. I planned to use them for winter hiking, snowshoeing and skiing with HOK skis but I just couldn't get the right fit. I had to size up a whole size to fit my foot through the collar and opening of the boot which seemed really narrow or too tight of an angle for my foot. Once inside however, the boot was now way too big in the toe box but somewhat narrow in the overall width. I couldn't get into my usual 6.5 and I tried both a 7 and 7.5. I did do a two hour hike in the 7s and oddly my feet got very cold. It was a dry day with about 5 inches of snow in the 20s'. I never get cold feet even in single digits so either it was circulation problem with the odd fit or the insulation is really poor. In any case, at $200+, I needed to love these boots a lot more. I returned all pairs and are looking for another brand.
