Extremely disappointed in Hoka’s quality. They are the best shoe I’ve had for my heel bone spurs and plantar fascia but always around the 4-5 month the Inside heel material fails and the hard plastic pokes through and destroys my heel. This is my 3rd pair of bondis all costing me $165 each just to replace after wearing them for a few months. It’s not worth the money for such short usage. This is a HUGE online complaint, you’d think Hoka would fix this issue instead of increasing their prices. It’s sad. My father is on his 2nd pair of Hokas and complains about the same issue. Get it together Hoka!
I was so excited to try my first pair of Hokas. Unfortunately after only a week of wearing them indoors in my clean apartment only, the yellow coloring started peeling off. I’m so disappointed because I thought these were going to last me awhile. They still are very comfortable and feel great, but definitely not as cute with them crusting off!
The fit is excellent. The feel of the support of the sole is amazing. The shoe strings stay tight even. But, the 7 month pair of Wms Bondi 8 faltered when the sole layer came apart at the toe and bottom platform with grids (inlaid) I loved them so much that i just wanted to buy some adhesive to fix it!! Time to ask the question….”How long should they last?”
The HOKA Bondi's were my first experience with HOKAs. They definitely take some getting use to- the heel is significantly chunkier/ taller than previous shoes that I have run in. I have arthritis in my toes and I found the the stability of the shoe itself was perfect for the level of support I needed. This shoe has the perfect mix of cushion and stability. The shoe is pretty resident to water. I do a lot of winter running and very rarely have wet feet. I have had some rubbing on the inner arch of my right foot but I chalk that down to my gait pattern and my feet being slightly two different sizes. Stylistically, these shoes are next to none! The vibrant colors are a running show stopper.
Second pair of these that I've bought and I had the same issue with both; the inside back (at the heel) cloth and padding rub off/tear within 6 months. I'm not a crazy walker, or exercise person, and I work in Customer Service, so I sit ALL day. So, it's not like these Hokas are getting a heavy work-out, this is just normal daily use. I bought the second pair of shoes thinking the first pair was just a fluke. Very disappointed.
This new version of the Hoka Bondi 8 is nowhere near as comfortable as the original version. I only bought them in April and already the soles are worn and the cushioning seems to have broken down. They dig into my arches and are quite uncomfortable. Not sure if I will purchase another pair. I am hoping they go back to the original style!
LOVE the shoe, but something happened. I bought the shoes 4 months ago. I do t wear them every single day, until two weeks ago. I started wearing them every day because plantar fasciitis. However, I went to take them off yesterday and they have a tear! I only went on a walk, and went to Costco, so no idea what would have caused a tear. But, the shoes cost too much to have this issue so soon (especially since I didn’t wear them consistently until 2 weeks ago).
Hate these after 2 months. First Hoka. Run/power walk 2 miles a few times a week. They were great when I first got them - but now 2 months later the footbed is all mushed down inside (I’m 130 pounds) and my foot slips. They are all stretched out and I’ve started to get painful blisters. I can’t wear them anymore. If I try these again I guess you should size down one size bc they loosen up so much. I can’t wear them to even walk the dog now - my feet are slipping and rubbing going up and down the hills. Waste of money.
OMG, these shoes are wonderful. I walk outside in these every day. The fit is awesome, and I feel like they have so much support. It is like walking on a cloud, as they have so much cushion. I am older and have arthritis begging in my feet and ankles, these shoes give me the support I need to walk as fast and run some too and feel sturdy.
Have had three pairs of Hoka's prior to this most recent pain and the difference in comfort is so disappointing. My feet are aching by the time i get to 1.5 miles. They aren't as padded as the Bondi 7 or Cliften 9 and they rub in a weird way. I'm returning them. It's really too bad because the color was awesome and now I don't know what to get to replace them.
