Good warm boot
Today was -2 and I had tall wool ski socks, The cold didn’t migrate through the bottom of the shoe, but the tops of my toes got cold after about 30 minutes They’re perfect for 20° and up But if you’re in and out the car, my feet did get a little sweaty. You feel the cold on the top of your big toes, but they don’t get uncomfortably cold. As long as I wear tall thick socks, I don’t have any problems with rubbing and they’re pretty comfortable. I’ve only worn these about five times but they have pretty decent grip and I like that they’re easy to get on. They’re a little snug but you can put them on with one hand in the heel loop howeverYou need two hands to get them off. Still easier than lacing up my Other boots.
Look good but the fit isn't the greatest.
Like the boots. The size that I had previously purchased were smaller than these so they didn't fit as well. Both were size 11. I was dismayed that the uppers rubbed on my shins to the point of breaking skin and leaving a rash no matter what socks I wore. Bummed that they weren't the perfect shoes the first pair were. I put the first pair through a lot of trials and grief; they never failed me until years later. Like the easy on and off as well as the thick rubber that seems impossible to tear or puncture. Not sure the temperature rating is accurate though as my feet do get cold at a much higher temp.
Comfortable...now
Was a little hesitant to order because the boots weren't offered in a wide. Received them about a week ago and after my first walk with them I was very.... disappointed. Width was fine, length was fine, but the boots wrapped uncomfortably around my foot with semi-thick wool socks on. Then I noticed that my toes were getting cold very quickly. Gave them one last shot today before I was going to return them and they failed again. When I was getting back in my car I thought to maybe just try them without the insert, and then BANG the boot completely changed. Toes warmed up, immediately more comfortable, and easier on and off. My feet could breathe again. Perhaps a thinner insert should be an option if wide is not? Idk, their good boots, well made, and NOW they're comfortable.
WARM AND WATERPROOF
Received my Arcata Urban Chelsea Boggs just in time for the first Wisconsin winter snowfall. They are warm, waterproof, and good looking. I'm glad I got the black. These boots seem true to size and thick winter socks are not necessary. They were very stiff at first. The upper and especially the pull tab took a few days to stretch. I do like the nub at the back of the heel on the boot that helps remove the other boot with your foot. If you're looking for incredible traction in a boot, this is the one.
Very comfortable but tight putting on
I purchased these boots after clearing snow in the very cold polar vortex before Christmas 2022. First time putting boots on was difficult and was considering returning. I took boots off/on a couple times and wore inside the house for a few days and the do seem to be easier to put on, although it still takes a small effort. Have not had another snow but did wear them in wet weather (40F) and boots were great. When on boots are snug with normal socks. Foot is wider then ave but not "wide"
Beat snow shoes I’ve ever worn
Fits perfectly and is comfortable to wear for long periods of time, just make sure you have some thick layered socks it really helps!
wet work boots
Love these slip-on boots They keep my feet warm even when working in water & snow. Great fit, great cleated soles for walking on ice
Durable and versatile weatherproof boots
Even before I tried them on, I knew these were high-quality boots by the weight of the box. They aren't overly cumbersome, but they certainly aren't lightweight, either. They're made of strong, sturdy materials that I have no doubt will hold up under any weather conditions. Plus, they look pretty sweet for a winter boot. I've paired mine with blue jeans, carpenter pants, even slacks. Stylish, durable, versatile. What else can you ask for?
Perfect when snow is not deep
I was looking for a winter boot for everyday wear when we had less snow on the ground (i.e. didn't need to use my taller Muck Artic Sports). These boots are perfect. I am normally size 11.5 and tried an 11 and 12 before settling on size 12. No heel slipage on 3 mile walks which was my early fear. Waterproof and warm in zero temperatures, but that was being active. Ice fishing in colder temp would likely need something warmer.
Good fit, comfortable walking, reasonably warm
These boots are exactly what I was looking for in a winter boot that I can slip on quickly to do outdoor chores. They're comfortable, the sole is firm, but not stiff, and the boot hugs my feet with no slipping as I walk. The only negative comments are that the boot isn't as warm as advertised. The company says they're rated to -40 degrees. I've used them in 15 degree weather and my feet began getting cold. There's no way the boots will keep me warm at -40. The soles need more insulation to achieve such a rating. Also, some have said that the boot is hard to get on. While it's snug, by using the pull loop on the back of the boot, it slips on with a little effort. It's not that bad, even with thick socks on. I'm curious to see how long that loop lasts since it takes a good amount of stress each time I put the boots on. The size was true to what I would normally buy.
