Quick, creamy, and hits the spot
I brought the Buffalo Mac and cheese on my first overlanding trip and this was the perfect meal! It was quick, creamy, and hit the spot after riding around all day.
WOW - a miracle in a bag!
I expected something very bland. I got something easy and quick and delicious. It was spicy but not too spicy, it had chunks of chicken and cheese with a wonderful consistency that was surprisingly ...awesome. I did not expect to like this but I was bored with chicken and rice in virtually every backpacking type meal. This is the opposite end of the spectrum. I ate the entire bag and I think I could have eaten another. That good and I am picky as anything. I read everything on a package before I buy it and eat it, and this is made with REAL ingredients. The person with me has witnessed me take 4and a half hours to eat a normal size can of pineapple. I went right into this and did not stop Yeah, that good. I am not a macaroni and cheese guy. I am also lactose intolerant to the max so I took 3 Lactaid tabs before sampling this. The wonders of technology!
Very good taste!
Very good taste! Pretty excited when I saw this new flavor and immediately ordered some. The taste is excellent, if you like hot sauce on anything you’ll like this. The first time we fixed it we use the exact amount of water called for on the package. In my opinion it was a little too much, the second time we didn’t use quite as much water and the sauce thickened up quite well. Every time we’ve eaten this the macaroni noodles reconstitute perfectly. I was very excited to add this flavor to our supply. I would definitely recommend it if you like buffalo chicken wings it’s just a great taste.
Very pleasantly surprised!
Bought this to test before heading out on our first overlanding trip and was pleasantly surprised at how good it is! Maybe let it sit an extra 2 minutes to cook the noodles fully. I thought it was better than the frozen Buffalo Mac I’ve bought! I ordered more meals to try because this tasted that good, I feel optimistic about the other flavors.
Mac and Cheese made better
Since I was a kid and in the military, I always looked for ways to make Mac and Cheese taste better. I recently purchased the new Buffalo Style Chicken Mac and Cheese to see if they had found the answer to my situation. Mountain House has done it again. I am happy to report that they have. I was already a fan of buffalo hot wings to now adding that flavor to Mac and Cheese is pure genius. The new mac and cheese tasted fantastic. The meal has the right amount of hot sauce mixed with the cheese. In fact, I ordered some more for my friends to try.
If you're into spicy, this is for you!
I tried this one out while ate work last week. It was good, however I'm not as much into spicy food. I do like regular chicken buffalo wings, but ONLY buffalo wings, not the tenders. So, I think that was the only drawback on my end, and that's a personal preference, not a knock against the product. The product was exactly what it claimed to be. My manager quizzed me on what I was eating, and even HE had to admit that it was a good product to be free from a lot of chemicals and last as long as it does!
Bliss in the Wilderness
My wife and I recently purchased four different Mountain House meals for a weekend in the mountains. This is the only one that lived up to the quality we expected from Mountain House. Will be buying again.
mac & cheese
I really like this version of Mac & Cheese; sometimes all the preservatives in these packages makes me nervous!! but yum
Disappointed
If you like hot and spicy, this is for you. But way too much heat for me. Also, the noodles were not hydrated and crunchy, and the cheese still powdery. However, I put the remainder into a small wide brim hot food Thermos for 5 hours and it all softened up, and was a good consistency. Very important to really stir well before and after. This was my first MH meal, so I truly hope the others in the tub are better than this. I based my purchase on 5 star reviews.
Passed the picky kid test
My super picky 8 year old actually liked it! I loved the bite it took too :) My kiddo went backpacking two nights and I was very clear that he had to eat what we brought and if he didn’t like something he still had to eat it. Well he didn’t eat his breakfast so we absolutely needed him to eat his dinner. Thank goodness he loved it, so much to eat it two nights. Good amount of spice!
