[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Second mattress I bought. Love it. I used to hate inflatable mattresses before until I invested into this one. Provides as good quantity sleep as my 6K mattress at home.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this for our Naturnest Polaris Plus Triangle Rooftop tent. The sleeping pad that comes with it is so thin and uncomfortable. I tried adding a 3 inch foam pad and my Klymit sleeping pads trying to make it somewhat comfortable to sleep on. That ended in tossing and turning all night because my hips and back hurt. So I started searching for a better option and saw a review for this sleeping pad and thought well why not. . . . well I can say we have been very happy with our purchase. We have a tendency to get to camp late in the evening so we used our airpump to inflate the mattress, putting to much air in it will cause it to be very firm especially with two people on it. Since then I have learned to keep it "squishy" if we have a late night setup. Otherwise if you can let it "naturally" air up with the two one-way valves on each side on the end, it is just about perfect. It fits the tent really well and inflates to a nice 4 inches of comfort. At the end of our trip we use the air pump to remove all the air out of the mattress so we can leave it in the tent for storage. Now that we have used it a few times there are a few things that would make it perfect. . . . (1) Having dual chambers for each side so you can adjust the amount of air for each person. I like it a little more squishy (Im around 170) but my husband (he is around 250) ends up feeling the bottom of the tent and wakes up sore. Letting it air up naturally, he finds it super comfortable and for me it is a little firm so I wake up a little sore (2) Move the air ports more to the middle so they are easier to access. The pictures are after we took our sleeping bags off getting ready to pack up and the wrinkly one is after I used the air pump to get the air out.
First thing first, this mat is extremely confortable, however the first time we bought it, it was deflating, we tried to find the source of the leak but could not find it. It was leaking at a very slow pace, which make us believe it was not due to a puncture, given the additional fact that we could not find any sign of puncture. Never the less, we decided to return it and try an other one as it was very confortable for the first 2 or 3 hours of sleeping. We had the same exact problem with the replacement model. This is not acceptable for a 400$ sleeping mat, especially that our primary use is inside with minimal risk of damage to the mat.
The Comfort Deluxe SI Double mat does all it says it will with comfort and style. It is warm and extremely comfortable to sleep on. There is minimal movement transfer from one person to another, which makes my sleep SO much better! We have the double mat, so it takes a little longer to inflate but is completely worth the wait. For rolling up the mat, the flip-over valves are a wrist-saver - since discovering this feature (which took us FAR too long!) we have been able to successfully return the rolled-up mat back into it's bag. It is absolutely worth the extra space it takes in the car for the lovely sleep it gives us.
Great sleeping pad, but the single valve for deflation and inflation is a poor design. Difficult to deflate after about 10 deflations, the valve stopped working. I returned the mat and exchanged for the newer one with a dedicated deflation valve....
We purchased the double pad before our first child joined us. I was a little worried the pad would be hard to roll up and its size. Both of those fears are not a problem and I find rolling up the mat only takes to rolls. I fold it in half (with both valves open) I roll most of the air out. Close both valves and then unroll it and stretch the pad (still fold in half along its length) out a little and roll it up again once I get near the end I open one of the valves. Finish with squeezing the last of the air out and closing the valve and slide easily into the bag. There have been a couple of nights we have been to lazy to inflate it the whole way and it is still pretty good.
I am just completing a three month trip in India. I brought my mattress as I don't sleep well on hard beds and it fit in my suitcase. I have slept on it, on top of hotel mattresses every night and have been incredibly comfortable. So glad I brought it! I bought it initially for camping, car camping and sea kayaking where I carry it in a dry bag on the back deck as I am so comfortable on this bed, it's as nice as my good bed at home. Durable, well made. Several friends have also purchased one after trying mine. The best camp mattress I have ever had, and I have had about 5 kinds over the last 10 years.
I have the Double comfort pad size! This thing is AWESOME. I have spent a multitude of nights on this thing with my GF. We both love it. My only strife with it is that it doesn't really self inflate. You should, or MUST buy the inflating pump sack. I have taken this thing just about everywhere from Utah in the early fall, to Big Bear in the snow. It keeps you warm. The feel of the pad is wonderful, although I do recommend a sheet to go over it. In colder climates it will chill wherever you are not. I have had to blow this thing up without a pump sack - it's rough. Putting it back into its stuff sack is not an easy task, yet doable! It does take up a bit of space in your gear closet.
I've had the Regular Wide size of the COMFORT DELUXE SELF-INFLATING SLEEPING MAT for a couple years now and I just had to get the Double now that i'm not camping solo these days. This ultra plush sleeping experience is even comfortable (for me) in temps as high as 72 at night. I've used it when I needed a spare bed for a guest at home, and obviously for it's intended use while camping. It's worth lugging around if you're car camping or have a short walk to camp. Your back after a nights sleep will thank you. The fabric is so soft and cozy. It's warm enough for freezing temps and I pair it with the Thermolite Reactor sleeping bag liner and my Enlightened Equipment 20 degree quilt. A+++++
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased two of these in the early summer to prepare for a two week long camping trip with my wife and daughter. First used in dinosaur national monument along the green river. Was around 103 degrees during the day 85 at night. Easy to set and durable. Extremely comfortable, didn’t sweat at night everyone slept great! Then moved up to Gros venture along the Tetons. Temp during the day was around 83 night lows were in the mid 40s. We used fleece thermal liners paired with the tanami down blankets. The sleeping mats helped us stay warm paired with other excellent products we got from sea to summit. Everyone loves them and we will be returning customers to see what else sea to summit comes up with in the future.
