I bought these boots almost a year ago and I wear them almost every day for hiking and backpacking. Most days I hike between 3 to 10 miles. But I recently did a backpacking trip over three days that included me carrying a 50 lb pack up Mt. Madison in the White Mountains. The second day was a lighter load at about 25 lbs. I did 15 miles and climbed four peaks (Adams, Jefferson, Clay and Washington). The White Mountains Presidential range is rocky and rough. The boots handled every bit of it. My feet were comfortable and stable the whole time. On my last day, going back down with the 50 lb pack it was slightly more difficult as it was downhill the whole way for about 6 miles. I did end up with one blister which I think I could have mitigated with different socks. Overall I give these boots the highest rating. I will but another pair when I need to or have them updated with a new sole.
I bought these boots over a month ago in anticipation of a four day backpacking trip in the Montana backcountry. These boots are absolutely amazing; very comfortable while also being rugged and durable when it came to handling all sorts of obstacles and terrain. Having heavy duty boots when carrying a large ruck or heavy backpack was a lifesaver. Even hiking in the Cascades with lighter loads has been a pleasure with these boots. They protect my ankles from rolling, bear heavy loads, and handle terrain flawlessly.
very nice boots. still breaking in, but so far very comfortable. The toe box is nicely wide enough to fit my gnarly toes. Good grip in the heel ankle. I'll know more about these boots in about a month.
