Questionable Quality

We purchased this tent last Spring for our family of 4. It’s huge and relatively easy to set up. Love the different spaces for the kids & adults and the large vestibule to keep things in. My husband who is 5’11” loves that he can stand up in it. We’ve been in it through a torrential downpour and stayed dry. I’d highly recommend the footprint as it makes the whole tent easier to set up. I would give this tent 5 stars other than the fact that we’ve only used it a total of 2 times and today when setting it up, we already realized a hole was torn into one of the seams. Doesn’t seem like good enough quality for the price we paid. I’m not sure that I would buy another tent from this brand.

Excited for a new tent

I couldn’t find reviews on this anywhere. No YouTube videos or professional reviewers. I couldn’t even find it on North Face website. I am taking this camping with me next week. The rooms, when divided, are roughly 7’ wide by 7’6” long. The two doors open just over 6’ wide. Took me about 25min to set up solo on my first attempt.

Thank You NorthFace

I am currently on a camping trip when I’m writing this. Last night there were torrential rains in the area. We had 2.5 inches of rain over a six hour time frame. The Wawona 8 tent stayed completely dry. Not a single drop of water got in. This was completely amazing. It was the only tent without water. This literally saved our trip and prevented a very uncomfortable night. The Wawona 8 was completely worth of money, and I am so thankful.

Great tent, no regrets!!

Huge, spacious, a 6'1" person fits well for the height, huge door and windows, easy to open widely and shut in every direction, the vestibule makes the tent more private but also is big enough to fit personal bags and chairs, the seams and fabric are of excellent quality, way above any other tents we had before (and we had an expensive Nemo!). The fabric is thicker than other tents but still light to carry. The wide and well placed all around windows make it perfect for ventilation. We love the size of our tent, for us and our two dogs thinking of the raining days when we have to stay in the tent and want to move around, it's absolutely perfect! We used it for three camping trips so far and we are grateful to have had the chance to buy that 8 person Wawona tent! ️

Great quality and enough room for a family of 6

We have a family of 6 and this tent is perfect! We can lay 6 person backpacking mattresses side by side in this. There is a window on the left and right side that open all the way as a door. The front also has two large zipper openings going to the cover of the rainfly. It's a perfect area to stow shows or even a few bag chairs to keep out of the rain. Granted, I'm coming from Coleman tents, but the quality of The North Face tent is amazing. The aluminum poles fit together snug. I can even assemble this by myself.

Great Family Tent!

We had to return 2 other 8 person tents from other brands to REI before deciding to go with the North Face Wawona 8. Couldn’t be happier with it! Lots of space, very well made and the internal divider was a life saver camping with our 3 year old. On our first trip, the tent took an absolute pounding with a 14-hour rainstorm and I can testify that it is great in the rain! Not one leak. The vestibule is also fantastic in the rain as it gave us space to sit outside and cook. Highly recommended.

Phenomenal family tent for organized comfort!

Fantastic tent for car camping! Held up to strong winds and rain on our first trip out. Exterior mud room is incredibly convenient for keeping firewood dry and keeping dirty/muddy boots off the tent floor.

Significantly Improved Design

I've used a Kelby Mantra 7 for about the last 20 years which has a similar type of setup. This design however corrects many of the flaws with the Mantra 7. Steeper walls and Ventilation being the big two. Used it for 4 nights on 1st trip and stayed dry after raining for an entire night. Will be curious if this tent holds up for 20 years but it would be nice.

Wawona 8

Bought the Wowona 8 tent earlier this year. Finally got to take it out. I was very impressed with the quality of materials and relatively easy to set up and take down. It was a little challenging to get up at first but overall very satisfied. The rest of you offered a lot of extra space to store, bikes, gear, and chairs. Very roomy, for a family of four in a Glamping situation. Would fit probably an additional 2 to 3 more Overland. The tent is well engineered with plenty of storage. I would recommend this tent to anyone who is going to camp for multiple days in a row and is not going to be moving from site to site. Great for backyard or for getting away for the weekend.
