Delicate material

I own 4 of these. I like em. They are very comfortable. My only issue is that the material is very delicate . I’ve snagged these shirts with my fingernails. You have to be very careful with them. I’ve even had the material wear under my backpack straps.

I want to buy another!

I live in this thing! It's the perfect layer in every way: from sweaty days climbing in the full sun to backpacking, trail running, etc., it's a great layer that protects well from the sun and dries quickly. The original one I bought is around 5 years old, and it's kept its shape and has held up under demanding conditions quite well. I recently ordered another of the same size and color just to have on hand, but when I tried it on, it was excessively baggy throughout. I'm totally bummed. The size small fit me like a glove, but now it's way too big. Too bad OR doesn't make an XS... I'd be first in line, if so. What's with the change of dimensions? I'd highly recommend this hoodie with a big asterisk about sizing.

You can push farther in the backcountry if you're not burned

This thing saved my skin in the backcountry of Glacier National Park during one of their hottest weeks this summer. The sun protection is excellent, and the fabric is so light and dries quickly to keep me cool. I have no idea why everyone in the world doesn't own a sun hoody. OR's version seemed like the best choice to me since it hits a sweet spot of fit, price, and features. Hood is perfect for under helmet. Raglan sleeves work great for my 6'3" 170lb +4 ape index arms, and the thumbholes are nice for that extra bit of sun protection. Body is blousy enough to catch a breeze and dry off rather than tightly sticking to your torso. Buy it, your skin will thank you.

Exceptional Gear

While climbing in joshua tree i noticed our guides had long sleeved shirts. I asked them about the shirts and decided to get one myself. It is incredible. So breathable and light all while keeping me cool even in harsh southern California sunlight. Have taken it kayaking and climbing up a couple mountains and it performed great in both. I will definitely be getting more for future adventures.

Perfect sun shirt

I just bought my second echo, first hoodie, and I love it. First really sunny day in alaska out on the lake. Kept me very cool, no usual sunburn. The hood helped with wind and keeping those massive alaska mosquitoes out. The material is so soft, I never want to take these shirts off.

The ONLY sun hoodie you need!

I use the echo hoodie for everything from trail running to mountain climbing to thru hiking to spring skiing. Personally, I love that it has no zippers or pockets. That keeps it uber light! Since it's so light, it dries extremely fast and it packs down to nothing. When your arms and neck are covered, you can bring less sunscreen. Very comfortable and breathable

Just the perfect combination. Was worried because it had no half zipper to open up for ventilation. Surprisingly this shirt breaths very well. 3 hikes down and I am loving it.

Live in this shirt

I have lived in this shirt for the past 5 years everyday when I on my boat. Bought a couple for a trip and haven't stopped using them and ordering more for options when they need a wash. I finally had to donate one to maintenance and it still rocks. It has a few holes in the sleeves where I've caught it on engine parts and such but it's still my go to for a day in the caribbean. Not sure how many I've sold just ranting about them to those who ask, "do you like that shirt?" You could say that!! I also wear them swimming, kiting, hiking, no joke, I LIVE IN IT!

Best Sun Layer!

Got this two weeks ago and I've been wearing it almost everyday I'm outside working in the sun. Great to have some breathability and sun protection on the water and working outside. This is a thin outer layer, but it works great for what it's meant for. Dries incredibly quickly and easy to do a quick handwash and line dry if you wear it as much as I do. As others have noted, the sleeves don't roll up to your elbow, as it is a trim fit and meant to cover your torso and arms to keep the sun at bay. Fantastic to wear on its own for hikes too when it's been hot. Hope to get more soon in other colors. Medium fit great for a 5'6, 130 lb guy.
