I am brand new to Xero Shoes and loooovvveee them. I wore them during a Spartan Obstacle Course Race (see pic). Incredibly perfect on the race course. And wore them on a hike in and around Lake Erie (Ohio). Perfect for that too! Buy them!
This was my first pair of Xero. I really do love how they feel on my feet, how flexible they are for hiking (I hike multiple times a week), and how grounded I feel to the earth. My normal size is 10 and these fit perfectly with plenty of room in the toe box. However... They started to unglue at back of both soles within 20 wears, and I exchanged them. The exchange policy is excellent, so I honestly plan to keep wearing them and if it keeps happening, I will simply keep exchanging them. Xero pays shipping. ;)
Great shoes, I run with them on trails daily. From the first day they were a perfect fit. My feet feel free, I feel the earth beneath my feet, connected and grounded, yet protected by a great sole with an amazing grip. My knee pain is also gone. Pure joy! Highly recommended!
First pair of barefoot style shoes I have not liked. They are so hot... part of the reason I love barefoot shoes is because they are minimal and not hot. No one likes hot feet. They are also falling apart and I have only worn them for about three months. Holes in the tops where you can see my socks. I will admit, I am hard on my shoes and go camping and hiking, but I have never had a pair of shoes wear out this quickly. They make my heels hurt. I have also never experienced this with barefoot style shoes (I have had several pairs from different brands). Very disappointed.
I’ve been wanting a pair of trail/ hiking shoes and am really pleased with my new Xero TerraFlex II. They’re very comfortable from the first time I wore them. They’re supportive of my ankles and heels but haven’t caused any rubbing or irritation. I’ve been able to wear them with or without socks. And the tread helps a lot on the trails and muddy areas. I definitely recommend these shoes (and look forward to trying a different pair of Xero shoes in the future!).
I bought these shoes to climb Mt Fuji. They were wide enough for my feet and you can really crank on the laces to adjust the fit. I had to add an insole for arch support. I successfully climbed the mountain without breaking the shoes in and had no blisters! However, the shoe did not have great grip on the highly inclined volcanic gravel that covers 90% of the trail. I kept slipping and couldn’t get a grip at all, so it felt like I was doing twice as much work as I should. I will keep them for hiking on forested trails where the dirt is a bit more compacted.
I've worn Merrell barefoot trail runners for years, but they've grown to have a stiffer sole. With holes starting in my old shoes I decided to give these a try. I've worn them quite a bit and I'm very pleased with them. They bend with my foot and are very comfortable and lightweight. I did size up one size as they do seem to run a little small. I just purchased the other color as well. I will probably remove the insole, which is an option, to see if it gives me more feel of the ground. I could run in these, but I'd prefer my Merrell vapor gloves.
These are very comfortable shoes. conventional shoes were causing foot pain, so I made the switch to barefoot shoes! all my foot pain went away. I wear these as daily shoes. I hike in them and run in them. The only downside is that the material isn't very breathable and my feet overheat. I have tried all sorts of different socks to remedy this, but the problem hasn't been fixed, so I believe it is the shoe material itself that is causing the issue. otherwise I love this shoe and would recommend it to others.
I wear these trail hiking and as my every day shoe now. They are so comfortable and supportive I can wear them all day long. They also clean up great when I get them dirty. Highly recommend this shoe and other Xero shoes. The only brand I wear now.
I loved how these shoes feel on my feet, I love the design, how light they are. I was excited that I found a brand I’ll go back to, but unfortunately they aren’t durable. After only one season (wearing them for hiking in average of 2 hours for 6 months), the mesh on the front has many many holes, it’s tearing up all the way through, so I can see my socks
