What sets this wool top apart from the rest of the ORTOVOX flock? The "Competition" style is the most technical and durable of their merino base layers. It uses a body mapped, nearly seamless construction, to efficiently regulate your temperature zones. The addition of nylon to the merino yarn makes this fabric fit skin tight, with high stretch and adds strength to better withstand abrasion and care. It's an ideal layer for being active in cold to cool weather. They make a similar fabric in the 230 Competition weight, for cold, winter specific applications.
This Ortovox baselayer is light but will keep you warm when layering. I wore this under a fleece in 45 degree weather (so not too cold) and I was warm after just a short walk. I try and buy merino wool when I can. This baselayer is as comfortable as any other merino wool I've purchased. I used the sizing chart and the fit is perfect. Everything to like and nothing to dislike.
Great tip for running or as a base layer. The fit is perfect, it’s very fitting but not overly tight. The thickness is great for high output activities. There is no charging and the top is super comfortable. Great quality as well. Can be worn numerous times without starting to stink.
Bought with minimal expectation and have Used and loved since - works nicely for winter exercise/ fitness layer by itself in a cool gym. I think the 190 thickness too hot 🥵
Wear as base layer cycling but does get cold in Florida. Low 40s both days this weekend. It was perfect, comfy, wicking, etc. highly recco.
