Go To Jacket

This has instantly become my go to jacket because it is incredibly warm. I love the deep chest pockets to stow my phone and ear buds. My only complaint are that it is a little large. Bought a medium and I definitely have more than enough room for layering. The biggest problem, however, is that the zipper must be perfectly aligned to zip up and it’s not always easy to get it aligned. Overall though, I’m really happy with this jacket.

My favorite winter jacket

This is my favorite jacket ! Not only is it extra warm but it runs a little large. It fits sweaters underneath. It’s got very large pockets on the outside and also on the inside. Every time I go out in cold weather I’m so grestful for the extra warmth of the 800 fill. Plus it is water repellent.

Too big - weird chest pockets

Disappointed with the size - way too big all over - and weird placement of zippers at chest level. Color is beautiful, but the fit and design were not going to work, so back it went!

arms too big

Pretty jacket but the sleeves run very wide. Even with a thick sweater they were still loose. I will have to return

Phantom Jacket

This coat fit beautifully! I’ve had a Mountain Hardwear coat in the past that lasted for 10 years so I was very excited to get a new one. Unfortunately I had to return the Phantom because the zipper was very difficult to operate. It didn’t line up properly and got stuck 9 times out of 10. Needless to say I’m disappointed with the quality and will look for other options.

Warm and great color.

Purchased for camping because I’m always cold. Keeps me warm on the coast or up in the mountains. Photo showed it stuffed into a stuff sack but did not come with one (bummer). Got L so it was longer and covered my hips. Already gotten compliments wearing it to the grocery store.

worth every penny

Sometimes it really does pay to drop the big bucks on a good piece of equipment. I bought the Phantom about 15 years ago and it has served me well for that long. After replacing the zipper this year, I hope to get another 15 out of it!

Super Jacket for Cold Winters

Warm and well made, but sizing it way off. At least it was for me. I normally wear a size small in Mountain Hardware tops (5’6”, 118 lbs). This one I exchanged for an XS. A bigger, better zipper would be a great upgrade.

Warm, Quality Down Puffer

Super warm puff jacket. It is a beautiful color (got the gold), but I thought sizing was off. I originally ordered a small (5’6”, 120 lbs, slight build), and I had to return for XS. Love the workmanship and the warmth.

Broken zipper right out of the box.

Poor quality--zipper broken out of box. It does not meet the high standards I've come to expect from Mountain Hardwear. I purchased two of these coats and returned both immediately after they were tried on.
