Very good walking sandals, happy feet!

For a long time I’ve been looking for sandals good for walking which had no arch support. Arch support kills me. I have tried cutting the hump out of other brands sandal soles, but that didn't work. I've put maybe 30 miles on these so far. The little points on the soles pricked into my feet the first walk and felt uncomfortable. After that I wore them with socks a few times. That smoothed the points out so they no longer bothered me when sockless. I haven't used these on woods trails; I'm wary of how they would do on roots and rocks and mud. I’ve used them on gravel paths through the woods. Last hike was 5 miles, no socks, and I didn't even feel the sandals. Really comfortable. Good padding. No chafing with the straps. Good tread, never slipped in them. They get a bit of gravel now and then in between my foot and the sole, but it is easy to shuffle out. They do not attract gravel a fraction as much as my former sandals (other, well-known brands were very frustrating). I ordered my size, 9 and they fit perfectly. They stay on. Never had a problem with the rear strap slipping off. I tightened the two front straps properly and was good to go. Don't have to loosen straps to put them on. I just put my feet in and the rear straps find their spot. Only thing I don’t like is the straps take a long time to dry. So I am careful to not get them wet while hiking. That is another reason I stay on the gravel paths. It has also been very very rainy here in Maine. The excess strap left after I tighten them at first bothered me. They curled up a little and didn't look good. Now they have relaxed, are less stiff and stay down by the side of my foot. Now they look better, neater. The tread and the sole are easy to clean with a brush and water. The sandals don't smell. Very happy with these sandals!

Good idea (2 points), 0 points for execution

Wanted an easy-on water shoe for canoe camping that would protect feet while wading, give decent traction and not have a bunch of straps that can gather gravel/debris etc. This sandal is a good idea, but the heel strap is non-adjustable - so, you adjust the fit with the two straps over the instep. These do not adjust easily i.e. you have to grab the short end of a thick strap and pull. Thus, the 'adjustment' is just forcing your foot down into the footbed which has its own problems. It is covered with 'traction' bumps and a 'traction' bar that hurt. So - back they go.

Great zero drop sandal with good cushioning

I have been searching hard for a zero drop sandal that has some cushioning for sore feet - this fits the bill perfectly. My feet have trouble with very thin barefoot sandals but even a slight heel elevation gives me knee and hip pain. This sandal with its 12 mm foot bed is super comfortable for me. Someone else had complained about the back strap not being adjustable but I find that the shoes stay on very securely if I have the two front straps tightened appropriately. I also like that the style makes it easy to wear these with or without socks. Really great sandal - I hope you keep producing it and also feature more zero drop sandal styles! REI - I hope you go back to specifying heel-to-toe drop in your product descriptions. It will cut down on returns.

Amazing shoe

Love love so much about this shoe, where to even begin? Amazing comfort, such great cushioning I can literally run to catch a train in these. Good tread, no rubbing or pulling anywhere, straps are comfortable. My only issue is that the straps tend to loosen a bit as you are wearing them. It’s a design flaw that I hope they’ll fix for next time around (and the reason I only gave 4 stars). Still wearable, just not 100% perfect. Bought these in white for a trip as water shoes but have been wearing them around the city every day- very cute. Highly recommend.

Great for everywhere!

Bought these for SUP and kayaking, but I've been wearing them everywhere. They're so comfy, go with everything, and look so much better than flip flops. I'm a 7.5 and bought the white in size 7 and they fit like a glove. I haven't experienced any lose straps, etc. I found the green on clearance somewhere else, but they only had an 8 and I couldn't pass up the deal. They fit, but I do notice the straps loosen more with the larger size. So if you're a half size and on the fence, size down.

Too narrow, sizing up doesn’t help

Shoes are a bit on the narrow side. I tried going a size up as recommended by other reviewers, only to find that the ridges on the footbed aren’t comfortable unless you adjust and wear them just right, but the backs aren’t adjustable so your feet won’t stay in the right spot. Oh, and adjusting with them on is challenging, because the straps aren’t long enough. Do yourself a favor and get your normal size, and if they’re too narrow, then buy something else. When will they realize that outdoorsy people need wide sizes?

Stylish & Durable

Stylish. The shoes look great on. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how great they look with a pair of ankle length jeans and plain t-shirt. The hardware and color was enough of an accent to elevate my look, clearly a statement piece. On two different occasions, acquaintances and friends complimented on how stylish my shoes were, enough to ask about the maker. Durability & Stability: I've worn them on 3+ mile walks in SF, Oahu, all over Seattle, and even on oyster beds (not the smartest thing to do, esp while carrying a toddler), and the shoe held up. I've also tested them while boating and I was able to walk around without slipping or losing my balance.

My foot's new BF

Ordered a 7 instead of a 6.5 and they are the perfect fit. Comfy, super light which is really nice, and never thought I would go for white but really digging it! The grip is a game changer, excited to hit rivers, lakes and all the trails in between this summer!

best sandal ever

I LOVE these sandals. They are so comfortable and versatile. However, the toe has a raised bump like Birkenstocks- so you’ve got to choose the right size. I wear a 7 or 7.5. The 7.5 was a better fit for the toe bed for me.

Awesome green color and utilitarian style

Love the green color, the straps, and the buckles. The heel is not elevated, which is good. A little concerned about the ridge under the toes and the little star bumps in the footbed, but willing to give these sandals a chance because they're just so darn cool. I really like them a lot. Ordered size 7, true to size.
